    Students are now Learners.

Nothing confusing about it. Once you obtain your Private Pilot Certificate, you're no longer a Student Pilot. You're a rated Pilot. When you go for an additional rating, you're a rated pilot, working on additional ratings.

    SoCal for the Summer

Great list, bbbuuuutttt... if you're going to go to McCall, you have to at least go into Johnson Creek... and if you're going to go to San Felipe, man, ya gotta go down to Gonzaga Bay, aka Alfonsinas.

Premier 1 driver reported to FAA by "pilot"

I don't know, I personally do not line up and wait anywhere except for towered airports, and even there it just feels really bad. At uncontrolled airports, you may think "there seems to be plenty of time", until you find out that you just pulled up to line up and wait, in front of that guy...

    Another Tailwheel Question

Don't try to over think things. Whether tailwheel, nose wheel, clock wise or counter clock wise helicopter, you simply use whatever pedal you need to keep the nose straight. After awhile it'll all just happen instinctively.

    Summer flying and density altitude

Speaking of DA... KLXV was 12,800' today. Alt: 30.4. They said the runway should finally be done around mid July.

My grandma could see that coming, from her rocking chair on the front porch!

    CFI’s and Spins

Man I gotta say, if I'm at 400' and I see a bad attitude, I'm gonna be on the controls in less than a second. Wouldn't you? The place to see if a student is going to attempt to make corrections is at 1500' or higher. And like Doc mentioned above, I too disapprove of instructors who hover...

    CFI’s and Spins

Where's the 'DisLike' button? Any instructor, or competent pilot who's paying the least bit of attention, will recognize a bad attitude long before you enter spin territory.

I Love that Video, except they didn't pay me enough to make it.

Any landing you walk away from....

I'm merely pointing out the fact that this can happen even if you're not a student pilot with a camera, that is all. Some on here believe that the only reason this happened was because a lowly student pilot was distracted because there was a camera running.

Any landing you walk away from....

NTSB Factual Report On July 24, 2005, about 1430 Alaska daylight time, a wheel ski-equipped Cessna 185 airplane, N332DG, sustained substantial damage when it nosed over after departing the runway during the landing roll at the Talkeetna Airport, Talkeetna, Alaska. The airplane was being operated...

Any landing you walk away from....

I'm pretty sure that since I own two GoPros and have been using them for about 8+ years, I'm pretty familiar with them and I have no problem with mine other that poor battery life. But YMMV, obviously. And now you're a mind reader too. Good to know. You could have said, "It's painfully...

Any landing you walk away from....

Are you familiar with GoPros? You mount it in the back, you turn it on. You're done. Go fly, retrieve sd card when finished.

Always thought it was just a joke, but...

When ever I board a commercial flight, I just step on wearing my flight helmet, visor down!

Any landing you walk away from....

I think a conscientious person having access to a video of their actions could learn a lot from it.
