Anyone ever lose a log book, as a student?

Another thought. If you use foreflight they have an electronic log as part of program. If you're like me too busy to enter, I have the phone number of a company that will do it for you for a fee. They will provide a file for you to import. That's what I did for about 10 pages. They were...

Anyone ever lose a log book, as a student?

Take photos of each page. Consider a duplicate electronic log. Better to log the electronic entries now than trying to reconstruct later.

    IR Checkride write up

So I used the ASA book and downloaded their updates. "X" ed out the questions they said are not being tested...NDB, ADF, marker beacons Etc. Did every question in the book except the ETE questions....memorized the answers to those. Turns out there were none of those in my test. Went I went...

Airplane partnerships, why so hard to find?

I guess I lucked out last year. After a couple of years, the stars aligned and I found a great couple of guys for my LLC and we found a great plane. Keep the faith. If you stick with it and are careful, you could get into something good.

    First true IMC during training

My first exposure to IMC was when I flew to see Dr Bruce for my first medical. I then had a flight through a thin stratus layer as an introduction. So I agree with azure. I just got my ticket and included in my hours were about 30 hours actual. It is definitely a different experience than the...

In light of ACS, which IFR ground school to use?

I wrote written 6/17 and used the ASA book. I too listened to Gliem audio that I had from before. I agree there were Tons of GPS and approach plate questions. Some winds aloft. Some "where in the world are we" relative to VOR questions. No ETE questions on my written. Lots of older questions...

    Updated test prep

My written lapsed 5/31 as I couldn't get my Checkride done in May. (Day of scheduled ride low ceilings and DPE booked solid until 6/9 and had a medical issue). Got ASA prep book and started refreshing. Took new exam 6/17 apparently after they changed it 6/15. Got a 92. Heavy, heavy emphasis...

    IR Checkride write up

As some of you know, I flunked my Checkride 23 months ago. Decided to postpone a future and concentrated on sim work. Last year I formed a LLC and we bought a Cirrus SR22, and updated the avionics with the new Avidyne IFD deck. I decided to seek out an instructor with a lot of Cirrus...

I can't use my plastic license anymore

Examiner punched a hole in it and gave me a piece of paper to replace it. Yes I finally got my re-ride in and passed my instrument Checkride. Had to retake written 2 weeks ago (new one under ACS) because written lapsed end of May. Got a 92 on it. Oral was far more risk and scenario based than...

my flight instructor didn't know about acs

I just had to retake my instrument written on 6/17 as it lapsed and passed my instrument Checkride. Don't know how this correlates to PPL Checkride but here are my observations. 1. Written was much fairer and reflective of the current instrument environment. 2. Oral focused on scenarios...
