Plane crash- not even sure what to say

When I fly an approach, and go missed and then repeat I figure 15-20 minutes per lap (more-or-less). Looking at the METARS and TAF, couldn't this pilot have tried once or even twice at FRG and said "Screw it, another day" and made it to MMU, or even ABE where weather was, at worst marginal VFR...

    Trouble deciding due to mission

Sit in a Mooney. See if it works for you. Some people say the Mooney is roomy other say it's narrow. My j with the 2900 lb gross weight increase as a thousand pounds useful load. Even with 64 gallons it can carry a lot! You might be able to obtain an older Mooney in that price range... Sent...

Made the right decision, so what?

In a few months you won't remember this day. Had you flown, your family might remember this day for a long, long time. I'd rather make many incorrect conservative decisions so as to avoid one incorrect cocky decision... Thanks for sharing ! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

I miss the 4 Panel Surface Prognostic Charts of DUATS

I will try that. I do see the four surface prognosis charts but they're not all displayed at once on 1800wxbrief . I rather like seeing them all together to see how the weather was progressing Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

I miss the 4 Panel Surface Prognostic Charts of DUATS

DUATS used to have, before it was decommissioned, a really nice weather product--the four panel surface prognostic chart. I really liked it for long range (2-3 days in advance) flight planning. Now that DUATS is no more, does anyone know of a site where you can see all 4 panels on one page ...

Under a Class c- What airspace

Just to be clear, there is E under the bravo over KLDJ, but it ends at 700 agl, below that, G Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Under a Class c- What airspace

I believe even under Bravo you can find class G (uncontrolled) airspace. E.g. look at KLDJ below Newark's bravo. Class E to surface depicted a as dashed magenta (look at Martha's Vineyard. KMVY. Approaching from the East you will be in class E to the surface. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Southeast to New England - NYC Area transition

Take a look at https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2017/march/flight-training-magazine/road-trip-hudson-river-corridor Reading up beforehand will make it simple and pleasant. Skyline route almost always granted if no Yankees Game and you are under Bravo control so you don't have to do...

Southeast to New England - NYC Area transition

The controllers are, in my experience, very accommodating especially if you make appropriate and concise calls 47N has cheap self-serve fuel. 7000 is fine low-stress option if ceilings permit, SFRA (I like skyline route at 1500) is very scenic and worth it especially if you've never done it...

Can You Fly a Piper Cub J-3 at Night

Would you then be required to have a transponder flying where it's required if you had a wind generator? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Can You Fly a Piper Cub J-3 at Night

Sorry. I meant can a J-3 be legally flown at night if it otherwise meets the requirements of CFR 91.205

Can You Fly a Piper Cub J-3 at Night

I was just wondering if you can fly a Piper Cub at night. Presuming it has either an engine which allows and alternator/generator or a stand-alone battery good enough to power anti-collision lights. Obviously it wasn't certified for night VFR back in the day...and I'm also assuming the pilot...

    Cirrus vs A36

It's somewhat surprising that there don't seem to be that many accident reports of Mooneys running out of fuel. It's easier to just keep flying, run out of fuel and be extracted by emergency crews than it is to climb over copilot seat and get out the usual way !!! Maybe that because it's just...

    Cirrus vs A36

Interestingly concept of ADS-B allowing better data collection. For example, I know there are relatively few Mooney aircraft out there as part of GA fleet, but whenever talking to ATC, I hear a lot of Mooney's on frequency. They seem to be over represented... Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Yes. My thoughts exactly. The cause of about 89% of accidents !!! Just wondering if any formal reports.
