    DOGE and the FAA

I have the same experience, working in consulting in state and local government for 4.5 years. Very spartan installations, minimal IT infrastructure, low salaries, no coffee or any perks, old buildings and office furniture. The people were very nice and most of the time well qualified.

Is it normal for a student pilot to feel sad like this?

This happens to pretty much all of us at some point. For me, it happened during my multi training. The instructor was great but always focused on the things I was doing wrong or not to his standards. He wasn't wrong, but left me demotivated. So I switched instructors and voila': did my best...

    CFI-Initial

I know the FAA books are the "Bible" for the CGI training, but I was thinking of getting a book that's easy to read to get me started and then use the FAA handbooks as reference.

    CFI-Initial

I'm also interested in this topic. Can anyone recommend a good book to read? I'm looking for something easier to read than the FAA stuff. This is to prepare for the written exams (CFI).

    Multi Training

Got my multi in a Baron as well. I had the opposite feeling. Felt very comfortable in them, really enjoyed flying them and would buy one if money was available.

Flying GA to FAA training facility in OKC

I'll be there on 9/25 for the physiology training (PROTE). The coordinator said I'd have to get a ride from another student, from an instructor or use a rental car. The last option is what I'm working on but it has the challenge that I'm planning to park at AAR around 6:30-7am so I can be at the...

Flying GA to FAA training facility in OKC

It looks like we can't walk there apparently... :-( I'm checking rental car options. Worst case scenario I get an Uber and hope to hitch a ride from one of the instructors.

Flying GA to FAA training facility in OKC

I’m scheduled to attend the FAA hypoxia training in OKC. I’m thinking about flying GA to OKC, but the procedures indicate I have to go to the visitor center first, then go to the training building a mile away. I thought about taking an Uber to the visitor center but this option will have me...

    Egregious FBO charges

Maybe it's intentional: charge outrageous fees, less planes use the FBO, so they charge more to try to keep the same revenue, then when very few people go there, they tell the city the airport isn't viable and the city transforms the airport into a housing development.

    Egregious FBO charges

Is there a way to know what airports have PlanePass so I can avoid them?

Voepass Flight 2283, a large passenger plane, crashes in Vinhedo, Brazil

My understanding from my recent training was that most twins cannot recover from a spin, no matter what you try. Still, recovery procedures did not mention asymmetric thrust, just the regular "power idle/ailerons neutral/nose down/opposite rudder" technique.

    FltPlan.go

I was having similar issues, even with downloaded maps. I solved it by upgrading my iPad mini to a newer model. Never locked up again. But I did switch to FF as primary EFB.

    Talk to me about glasses

It took me some time to get used to progressives. These days, I don't even notice them. Make sure to get the most expensive one, they're worth it
