    Medxpress status

Medxpress status just went into final review. Will it actually show a decision, or will I just have to wait for a letter in the mail?

    Medical issue

I would for sure talk to a medical advocate, and maybe even an aviation attorney. I would want to be ahead of this.

Will this be automatic medical class 1 deferral?

Not an AME, but it sounds like unresolved depression. I highly doubt that won’t be deferred.

    Medical issue

I would be careful about spending a ton of money on flight training right now. You probably are going to want to deal with this first. This will likely take time and money.

Cogscreen - If all pilots had to take it, how many would pass?

Get a good night’s sleep and relax. Take it from someone that has experience doing the tests. Friendly tip, you can absolutely talk to yourself out loud during the test. This may come in handy.

Anyone lose it and keep it off . . .

Create a plan. Find out the cals you need to lose weight. You and I are the same height. A caloric deficit for me is like 1700. There are plenty of apps out there to track your daily intake. Stick to the plan! Eat nutrient dense food.

Sickness note commercial pilot by GP or AME?

I am not buying that an airline would demand a sick note for a call out or fatigue call. There is way more to this one.

First class medical after a seizure

Change your approach, ha. You’re not “fighting” anyone. That will not get you far with the feds. You are seeking their approval.

    HIMS backlog

I think the commerce of air travel takes priority over the $100 hamburger. That’s the logic behind that.

    Loss of Medical

Airlines do not care if you have an SI. They just want you to have a valid 1st class medical. There are lots of airline pilots with an SI for various reasons.

Cogscreen - If all pilots had to take it, how many would pass?

I did the full eval, which the cog screen was a small part of that. It’s all very daunting because you don’t know what you’re walking into. In my opinion, that is why it is extremely important to go somewhere that has deep experience administering these tests. Having a doctor that...

Just issued. Here is the timeline

You would have shortened it significantly if you had your cog testing, MRI and neurological exam complete when you first applied. These are always asked for in TBI cases. Congrats on getting it. That’s awesome!

    File request

I did the full battery of testing. Prior to that, I did a lot of the brain apps. Lumosity is fun and can be quite the pastime. There are a couple of things in there that possibly helped. However, I think the benefit of it just getting yourself into the mindset of completing timed tasks...

    MRI question

The neuro I am using for this whole FAA process was very uninterested in my CT scans. They want an MRI with hemosiderin protocol.

    MRI question

Hey! Hope all is well. From my understanding, the panel wants current imaging via an MRI with certain protocols anytime there is a history of TBI. I know that specifically doesn’t answer your question. I doubt they would review without a current MRI though.
