The burden of proof would be on them. Just ask anyone that tries to say you can't to cite chapter and verse that says you can't and watch them sputter away.

Why do you need something to state it? What isn't specifically prohibited is okay. Rules are there to tell us what we can't do, not the other way around IMO.

I did this when I was a post solo student. I flew down and picked my CFI up for a lesson many times and it made things much more convenient for both of us. YMMV

I have heard similar things to this about the older Jabs. I have also heard that the Gen 4 engines are much more reliable so would like to know what you think about the newest revisions.

5,000 plus is not uncommon at all. 10k+ isn't uncommon and there are some 20k+ GA aircraft out there. Low total time on a 50 year old airframe can actually be worse than something with higher time. Low time often means that the aircraft flew very infrequently or not at all for years at a time...

I trained in a Cherokee 140 with no toe brakes, not a big deal at all. The hand brake can be easily reached from both seats. My CFI loved the Cherokee over the 150s he normally instructed in. Roomier, better performance, and less prone to beat you to death if its a little bumpy out.
