    POTUS TFR question

Yeah, I can only imagine how many millions of taxpayer dollars are wasted on each trip. If Hickenlooper ends up on the ballot, I think I'll vote for whoever the other guy is just to try and avoid presidential TFRs here in Colorado.

    POA Movie thread

I felt The Mule was okay, but nowhere near his best. I got taken out of the element a couple times by some scenes I felt were cringe-worthy. I'm perfectly fine with disturbing or provocative scenes in a movie that add to the dramatic effect, suspense, character building, or whatever. But...

    POTUS TFR question

These TFRs are so disruptive, I sure hope nobody from Colorado ever gets elected president.

Apple (TV) Event today - 3/25/19

I did without any kind of cable or satellite TV for about ten years, and was doing just fine, UNTIL Game of Thrones came out on Blu-ray, and I bought the first season and got hooked. Back then, there was no way to view HBO without going through a cable provider, so I thought I'd add TV services...

Apple (TV) Event today - 3/25/19

It's interesting how the same old stuff comes around eventually. We had aggregators for decades in the form of Comcast, Dish, DirecTV, etc, which people loved to hate until broadband got to the point people could "cut the cord" and subscribe a la carte to separate services. I never did that...

    Robocalls getting out of hand.

I hope John Oliver is still robocalling the sh*t out of the bigwigs at the FCC who should have brought the hammer down on this crap years ago.

FAA advises Cirrus pilots to check ailerons before flight

Shame on me, I forgot to check the safety wire when I posted this thread! :)

FAA advises Cirrus pilots to check ailerons before flight

Friend of mine just passed this along to me. There are some folks commenting that people may, or may not be, already checking the safety wire as part of the preflight inspection checklist. Anyway, thought other Cirrus pilots here might want to at least be aware of this, as it just came out...

    Facebook morons

That sh*t right there is worthy of billions in fines and penalties. Not millions, billions. The only way to get these companies to respect consumer data, and not leave it vulnerable to identity theft and hacking, is to punish them severely right where it hurts. The bottom line. Now I have no...

    New, 2019 DA42-VI or SR22TG6

Thanks for posting that - That's good updated info to have from an actual Diamond owner.

    New, 2019 DA42-VI or SR22TG6

I've always liked the DA42, and twins in general, and for flying around the mountains, it has a lot of appeal for me. And the proficiency aspect of it wouldn't bother me, in fact I'd just plan on taking a lot more proficiency training to always stay on top of it. I doubt I'd ever buy one...

Ethiopian Airlines Crash; Another 737 Max

I completely agree with this. I'm all for placing blame on individuals when they screw up, in fact I think personal responsibility is at an all-time low (and getting lower) as more and more people seek to place blame on others for their screw ups. But when you have a manufacturer with billions...

Colorado Pilots - St Pat's Day

Thanks for posting this, and arranging it - it was great meeting everybody, and timing was perfect, as I had just gotten a flight wrapped up at Independence (and what a great day to fly today!) Looking forward to more get-togethers and meeting more folks!

Colorado Pilots - St Pat's Day

I'm scheduled for a lesson, or maybe solo flight, on Sunday until 2pm. Assuming the weather holds and I don't get rescheduled, I might be in the air or debriefing around that time. I'll check this thread after I'm done and see if/where you guys are meeting and will show up if I can, especially...

    Geese and the onion.com

That almost looks like the Denver Tech Center where I used to work. Geese were everywhere. You couldn't walk anywhere around there, it was such a minefield of goose sh*t. On my first solo a few weeks ago, there were a couple huge flocks of geese at the approach end of the runways. My first...

Everybody in Colorado OK ... ?

View in Evergreen: You don't see this often - DIA completely closed: I saw some report (CDOT?) that said even the plows weren't out because of whiteout conditions. I know that here in Evergreen, I didn't see a plow in my subdivision until very late in the day. I've lived off and on in...

Colorado Pilots - St Pat's Day

Sounds fun - post details when you have them. I'll probably be having cabin fever by then if this snow hasn't melted off.

    Hangar “must haves”. AKA nesting...

OMG, at the 1:10 mark, when he moved the camera across the floor and it made a noise, it sounded like the spider growled at him, and I jumped back in my chair!

    This note is legal tender...

I rarely carry cash, and have preferred to use credit cards for years. And although I usually pay my cards in full each month, even if I didn't, or there were other fees with having the card, I still prefer cards. Back in the days when cash was more prevalent, I absolutely hated having to hunt...
