FS: A complete KCS-55 slaved compass system

Price dropped to $3k. If it doesn't sell I will sell the bits separately because they clearly do go on US Ebay.

FS: A complete KCS-55 slaved compass system

Over time, I installed the Sandel SG102 and the SN3500 so the following items are no longer needed: KG102A - about 2 years since overhaul at Castleberry Instruments, with 8130-3 KI525 - 11 years old, 1000hrs KI229 (2-off) - one about 5 years old and one 11 years old and w/ a fresh 8130-3 KA51...

    Data on Woodward 210085U governor

Someone here (UK) is trying to overhaul one of these but cannot find any data on it. It is at least 20 years old. I would much appreciate anything anybody can find.

    Obtaining anti-ice coating - vendor won't ship non-US

No, I never found anyone willing to send some by airmail :) Well not yet, anyway.

    Obtaining anti-ice coating - vendor won't ship non-US

I had a look at that facebook site (originally I could not see it because had some popups etc disabled) and it just shows some notes about somebody looking at ways to ship it into the UK, and some silly comments from people trying to make their phones work under water! There is no doubt it can...

    Obtaining anti-ice coating - vendor won't ship non-US

Not suggesting anybody does anything illegal but the tiniest amount of this stuff, say 1 cubic centimetre, would be enough to prove whether it works to repel ice. And if it works, it will be completely amazing. TKS now costs something like $50k...

    Obtaining anti-ice coating - vendor won't ship non-US

I am not on f***book :) What does it say there? Many thanks Gismo

    Obtaining anti-ice coating - vendor won't ship non-US

Would anyone be willing to find out how much this would cost to ship? I am happy to pay for it, though not something completely outrageous like $1000. Once I paid $250 to get a tiny coax connector shipping from a US firm who simply didn't want to ship abroad and I won't be doing that again...

    Obtaining anti-ice coating - vendor won't ship non-US

So would a lot of people but I need to find a way of getting some :)

    Obtaining anti-ice coating - vendor won't ship non-US

How can one then send oil analysis samples by airmail - as one does? Is there no way to package a small quantity suitably? For example one can buy 2-pack car paints on Ebay.

    Obtaining anti-ice coating - vendor won't ship non-US

The firm is here. After great difficulty contacting them I finally heard that they won't ship outside the USA. Would anybody here be willing to buy some of this stuff (the smallest pack would be fine) and just pop it in the mail, airmail... ? Might have to write "something else" on the...

    Sandel 3308 display brightness

The new SN3500 EHSI is superb, with an LED display which outclasses every other instrument I have ever seen. I installed one in 2011 - report here. Recently I had a chance to buy another SN3500 (and the SG102 AHRS gyro) at a very good price, and I will be putting that on the RHS, to create a...

    KX165A (8.33) discontinued?

There is a potential demand for these from Europe, where 8.33 is being enforced for IFR from 2014 and for VFR from 2018. But there are suggestions that Honeywell stopped making it. Anyway, there are used ones around. But they cannot be installed in an EASA-reg plane without being processed by...

    Flying in Italy

The rental you people are used to is not common in Europe. You can rent in the UK, in Germany, and some other places, but in most of Europe you can only fly with an instructor or something like that. Also your US license is good only for a US-reg aircraft (plenty of them in Europe but very...

    Aspen Failure PIREP

You don't actually need a relay to do that. Just a 3 pole toggle switch - if you don't care about backing up the flight director. If you want to back up the FD then yes you need a relay. Also I would not agree that losing the AP is no big deal :) Especially if you have also lost the main...

    Aspen Failure PIREP

How does one deal with the "autopilot source" switch, in terms of certification? I have enquired about doing something similar but it is a complicated Major Alteration because, for a start, the autopilot AFMS needs to be changed, which is a big FAA ACO job. This has been looked by many people...

Unusual power connector - help needed

Normally there would be a keyway. Relying on the pins to polarise the connector is dodgy, because they will get broken very fast.

Unusual power connector - help needed

What makes this really unusual is the off-centreline contact location. Every 2-pin connector I have ever seen has the two pins symmetrically located.

Unusual power connector - help needed

Can anyone recognise this 2-pin circular connector I have asked Positronic and they don't recognise it. The aircraft is a Diamond DA40-180, made in Canada I believe, about 10 years old.
