Masters of the Air--coming to Apple TV

I’ve only watched one episode…how on earth is that possible (the most expensive series ever)?????? No name actors, filmed in Timbuktu, craptastic cgi, I guess Spielberg paid himself fifty million or something

Masters of the Air--coming to Apple TV

The plane that went around in Greenland accelerated like a ufo from the x files You’d think Spielberg has enough money to at least get decent CGI. Yeeeeesh

Charged With DUI When I Wasn’t Driving

I think he proved he was below 0.15 by stopping and choosing to walk. He wasn’t so far gone that he couldn’t fix the problem. Since we like to speculate here: The “witness” was an angry ex who spiked his/her drink, the atm video pointed a different direction, the gas station video overwrites...

    Shortest Cross Country

I’ve never flown it but was looking for land near an airport and noticed VA61 and VA62 are about half a mile apart

    Top Gun 3

There’s a scene in the aviator where Howard Hughes figures this exact thing out. Had to have clouds to show relative motion Anyway, cruise hasn’t made a bad movie in many years, so I bet he delivers again in tg3. Maybe he does the sure fire thing and teams up with Tarantino lol

FAA knowledge tests -- 24 calendar month time limit

That’s what happened 20 months ago but it’s mostly luck of the draw. I only had one or two “I’ve got no clue” questions College Football is ending so I can finally focus

FAA knowledge tests -- 24 calendar month time limit

The issue, for me, is the irrelevant stuff (helicopter questions) and the ones which have either unclear questions or answers, etc. Sheppard lists them out but it’s annoying, time consuming, and a frustrating waste of time. The other issue is that they’ve added x hundred more questions in...

FAA knowledge tests -- 24 calendar month time limit

It can take a year just to fix the plane! Order parts, wait. Schedule shop, wait for them to work through backlog etc. Plane logs etc, missing poh, whatever. Illness, money, work, kids, etc. There’s a million things to delay the initial schedule.

Thank goodness for ADS-B in and Foreflight

ADSB and ForeFlight can be annoying too. I had some dude on my left that I couldn’t see, so I couldn’t turn left. After awhile I was thinking he’d be blocking me for the next hour so I turned right 270 degrees and went behind him. In the old days I would have never seen him, turned left, and...

The 2019 Hawaii Crash and The “Bad Flight Instructor”

He desperately needs an editor. In fact, he probably needs a third party to decipher and rewrite before the editor cleans it up.

Is it just me, or is the PHAK poorly written?

I believe it’s lowest price, technically acceptable So it’s lowest bidder of the ones who were accepted, meaning following rules/ regs/plans/ specifications/ etc

    Instrument Checkride - Full Debrief

Did you know the acronym quiz was coming? 2.5 hours of questions before getting to the plane? I hope your rear seat passenger brought lunch

    Finally restarted my flying lessons.

I think I can speak for everyone and say that we hope you solo successfully. The easiest and quickest way to do that is to takeoff and land (with your instructor) five times, get his blessing, then kick him to the curb and do it solo three times. The simulator is great for many things but...
