I have a JetBoil as well but prefer a pour over. I grind beans fresh with a manual grinder while the water boils then enjoy a great cup of coffee. The vendor stuff is not my favorite but perhaps I am a coffee snob.

Travel to GA airports with handgun

I never said concealed wasn't concealed., I simply stated that in Illinois, the statute doesn't allow you to legally carry on an airport.

    1. No advance admission tickets needed, and you can't pre-purchase airplane camping, so no for that too 2. What rule? https://www.eaa.org/en/airventure/plan-your-eaa-airventure-trip/eaa-camping-information/airplane-camping/airplane-camping-guidelines Clearly says: "The Oshkosh Fire...

Travel to GA airports with handgun

Being legal in the People's Republik of Illinois means you can't carry on any airport property (sigh). First offense isn't so bad though.......

Only 2 days for Oshkosh, which ones are best?

Basler has fuel trucks that provide fuel on their ramp and in the airplane camping areas. You put a tag on your prop with instructions, then after they fuel you take the tag to the hut and pay the bill before you leave. I wouldn't wait to try and get fuel right before you leave. Land, park, go...

Does stratus care if I am 14 or 28 volts?

The Stratus battery is pretty good, I flew 4.5 yesterday and had it on the whole time and when I shut it down the battery was still at 68%. I have never once had to plug it in during flight.

Only 2 days for Oshkosh, which ones are best?

Technically speaking, the show opens on Monday the 24th this year. You can walk around Sunday but most things are frantically scrambling to be completed and ready for Monday. The best part of Sunday is grabbing a radio and a chair and sitting out by the flight line to watch all the arrivals. It...

    Plane camping question

Read the NOTAM, then read it again multiple times. Then follow it to a T even though plenty of others seem to consider it only a suggestion.... Bring a hammer and appropriate tie downs for your plane. You need a hammer because the ground in the North 40 is hard as concrete.... which is why I...

    Arriving early

I always fly in on Saturday and did last year, albeit stopping in Rockford for awhile and dodging weather. Depending on the time you should still be close to the store and showers vs risking being on the north side of 9/27. This was what things looked like last year coming in We got in, got...

    Good restaurants in/near Oshkosh?

Lots of really good food is cooked right there in the North 40. I know I do my part to make all my fellow campers hungry with the smells coming from my camp. :)

Cessna 182P Engine Cold Start Now Different

That sounds like a lot of work. On my 182P for a hot start, I crack the throttle 1/4 inch and turn the key. Fires right up on one blade.
