    Today while turning the inner concentric knob on my GTN, it literally disintegrated in my fingers. I can still turn the inner knob by using the metal stub that juts out, but I really need to get a new one. Any idea where I can get just the rubberized inner knob for less than, say, $2,000?

    Actually the encoder is about four years old, but that wouldn't explain why the display on the Trig is giving an accurate pressure altitude reading. However, I did have somebody take a look and they reported that the connector at the antenna end is crimped and in bad shape.

    My KT76-C transponder is in the fritz and the repair station doesn't think it's worth repairing. He has one he can sell me but for $1,700. I see these units all over the place for less than $500.     Dismantling the panel to repaint would be an awful lot of work. I was hoping an easier solution would be suggested but guess I'll just learn to live with it.
