    Color vision question(s)

Be carefull getting the SODA, if you fail it, you get the restriction for life. Not something to play around with. Get your physical, get your PPl, then worry about it later when you know you can't pass the other FAA color vision tests but are sure you can pass the lightgun tests and other...

    Raptor Aircraft

Were my eyes playing tricks on me, or did that thermostat housing/Oil filter mount on the Audi motor look like plastic? God know the vibrations/harmonics a redrive and prop are putting into that motor, and to trust your oil pressure to a plastic assembly?

What is it called when your auto transmission shifts down

Sounds like your talking about the torque converter locking and unlocking? Its not shifting down a gear, it is just the two halfs of the converter unlocking and slipping a bit between themselves. If the trans is old enough tech I suppose they may be a way to put a switch to manually...

    Holiday Depression

Look into Vitamin D deficiency, it is most common in the winter we we get less sun and common symptoms are tiredness, depression, fatigue, etc. After being told this by my docotr, and having blood work to confirm it, I take a vitamin D suppliment in the winter and it has really helped with the...

    Raptor Aircraft

A 200hp Lycoming weighs 330 pounds. A 200 HP outboard weighs 500. They also enjoy the luxury of an unlimited supply of cold water for cooling, and through thermostats, get to operate at a constant temp, reguardless of load or rpm. Something an air cooled motor can't enjoy so you can't get the...

    Biennial flight reviews

A new rating counts, I don't believe an endorsement does. And they are not called BFR's anymore.

    Any hope for medical?

If you dream of flight, do it. The only difference for you is ~$50 hr to have a cfi sitting in the right seat whenever you want to fly. Plenty of young, hour seeking CFIs around who would be happy to do nothing and sit there, building hours after your a competent pilot. Take the lessons, learn...

    Raptor Aircraft

It costs them probably $150k to build the plane, the other $250k goes into the legal fund for when they are sued. Just my wild guess.

    Learning to Weld

A primer on welding I wrote for a trailer forum years ago. Geared towards people who want to build their own trailers, but it should get you started. http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=23778

PA 28 Student pilot 350 lbs

Can't help with the Piper, but with a normal sized CFi, a 172 would be fine. I've had me (250#) and a 300 pound passenger in various 172 models and as long as the extended range tanks are not full, within weight and balance.

    Wrong medication

I would take it back to the pharmacy, and make them wipe their system of it ever happening. If they balk, suggest that a call to the FDA about a pharmacy giving out meds not prescribed could happen. If its set in stone at this point with such a paper trail (did your insurance pay for it, etc)...

So, uhh... wow? (pilot in class Bravo without clearance, McCarran)

In that situation would have stated that "I've been cleared into the Bravo" when I called up after the hand off in case the new controller didn't have that info, but saw you seconds from entering. Perhaps he had somewhat more pressing calls to make, but called you instead to clear you through...

    O-200 Centre Main Bearing Failure

They have one 152, but not sure how that is relevent to a thread about 0-200s?

    O-200 Centre Main Bearing Failure

Maybe give CP Aviation at KSZP a call, they have run a fleet of 150s for their training operation for decades, plus they do all their maintance in house.
