How hard would it be to do this?

I think helicopters are actually better for sight seeing tours. They fly low and slow and have good outward visibility. All of that translates to great sight seeing. Look at this video and you will see what I mean.

Should I buy a high wing or a low wing airplane?

I haven't tried it, but with the wing dihedral, I think mine may fit too. Mine is a C5 Z06.

Should I buy a high wing or a low wing airplane?

You just had to go and make me jealous didn't you! :p That video looked pretty awesome with the tight formation flying. I have a good friend that does volunteer work at Triple Tree. They have a P51 up there and he was able to catch a ride one day when they were making a post maintenance...

Should I buy a high wing or a low wing airplane?

I know it's not a radial, but those Merlins in a P51 are pretty sweet sounding to me. I would love to get a flight in a P51.

Should I buy a high wing or a low wing airplane?

You are right, I misspoke. I did not mean the wing strut, it was the landing gear and wheels you had to maneuver around. I'm 6'1" and it was a bit awkward ducking under the wing and stepping over the gear and wheelpant. I flew about an hour today then filled up the tanks, changed the oil...

Should I buy a high wing or a low wing airplane?

I've owned both. My biggest complaint with the Cessna was having to climb a ladder to fuel the plane. My low wing Cherokee is so much easier to fill up. My biggest complaint with the Cherokee is having to slide across the passenger seat to get to the pilot side. My Cessna had doors on both...

    Vinyl Wrap

If you are talking about wraping the entire airplane, it will cost as much or more as getting the plane painted for something like a Cherokee or 172. Actually the vinyl price quote I got for my Cherokee was higher than my paint job. If your airplane is painted white and you just want to add a...

    That will not buff out

It's also interesting that it looks like the SR-20 had flaps deployed and the SR-22 did not. Hummm?

First time at Air Venture - Coming from Florida

    1) You should be okay driving from Green Lake. I have flown into Green Bay and left the plane there and driven back and forth to Oshkosh each day. Green Lake is closer than Green Bay. I much prefer to camp by my airplane at KOSH though. 2) I carried a small backpack with water, snacks, sun...

    Sun N Fun 2018

That would be so awesome but it is looking like I will be going to Canada for the first two weeks in April for work. We were originally planning for it to be the last two weeks of March (now) but contract paperwork and work permit paperwork has pushed things back a couple of weeks. I am so...

What is your favorite GA airport you flew in an out of?

I think one of my favorites has to be KSSI, St Simons Island, Georgia. The scenery around the coast is beautiful to me. KSSI has two runways so even if it is windy you can usually line up fairly straight into the wind for take-offs and landings. It is non-towered, is an easy in and out and...

Maybe some of you can use this thing I wrote (Kneeboard generator)

Multi-leg function or not, I love using your kneeboard generator. I use it for every XC flight.

    A typical Saturday morning

Saturday mornings for me are typically occupied running errands. I live in a small town and so many places like the post office, hardware store, laundry, auto service businesses and etc., close at noon on Saturday. I usually get a shower, make the errand rounds before everything closes then...

The Ryder Cup "Splash In" is back in the news.

I have always felt like the loser of a lawsuit should have to pay ALL of the legal fees for both sides. Right away that would eliminate a lot of frivilous cases and it would also ensure that the innocent are not unfairly burdened financially by the legal process.

Russian airliner spews gold out its cargo door

Well I remember the great Russian gold rush of '18. Gold was just falling from the skies. You didn't even have to mine for it. It could be found in big rectangular bars instead of just those little nuggets. Those were great times in Yakutsk I tell ya...great times. :)

    Converting 2-seater to 4-seater?

You can easily take the rear seats out of a Piper Cherokee for more baggage room. It is a four seater but you still have to be careful not to overload it beyond it's weight limit if you put four people in. Four 200 pounders with full 50 gals of fuel is foolish. With any plane you still have...

    Not bad for a Warrior

I would love to do that. I'll shoot you a PM next time. I actually got to meet Mr. Campbell today that started the airport. It was interesting talking to him about how the airport got started. Sounded like he had quite an aviaton career.
