We added two new members this past week to the cycling club to take us up to 18 members. Eleven rode last week for a total of 482 miles. I think this may be the most miles ridden since we started the group. Awesome!

For any that don't know, it is really easy to add pictures to your Strava ride. After you have uploaded your ride to Strava, click on the map of your ride and it will go to a screen with more details of your ride. On the bottom right corner of the map you will see a picture icon. Touch this...

It is so hot here too. I just try to get out early in the morning before the heat builds up. It's still pretty warm but a little more bearable. As long as I keep moving I'm fairly comfortable from the breeze. When I stop is when I suffer. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for...

    Sky appreciation

In light of the Tour de France starting tomorrow, I thought this might be a thread about these guys. ;)

It has been really hot here too. I don't let the heat stop me. I just try to ride either early in the morning or late evening. Unfortunately we have had thunderstorms the past two evenings. That stops me! At least it gave me a chance to clean and degrease the chain and gears on my bike...

We had 8 of the 16 members of the PoA Cycling Club making rides last week for a total of 310 miles. It has really been hot here in Georgia this past week. I've been trying to get my rides in during the morning but it is still rough. I'm glad to be back home and riding on a regular basis again.

    Bike in a Plane?

We have the same folding bike and case. I've been pretty happy with mine. My road bike is much nicer but the Columba works great for flying down to the beach and etc.

Strava does all of the things you asked about. I'm personally not too crazy about the Strava record screen. It only shows ride time, distance and average speed. There is no option for configuring this screen. Everything else is pretty neat about Strava. The Cyclemeter app has a great record...

    Bike in a Plane?

I have a 26" mountain bike that folds and stores in a canvas case that I take in my plane on a routine basis. Taking your bike with the wheels and seat removed sounds very doable. They make cases for your wheels that I would highly recommend to both protect your wheels and airplane interior...

Yes, I don't see how you can just drive off leaving someone in the road like that. Scared young kid or not, don't people have a conscience any more? Sad really. Praying that the cyclist is able to make a full recovery.

    Devastating news

So sorry to hear that. It's really tough when it hits close to home, especially when they are young. I'll be happy to pray for her and all that are affected by this.

That's why I like to ride at least five days a week. When I go out of town on business, like right now, I over eat and under exercise and the first couple of days on the bike after I return home are rough.

Thats really not relative if you plan on keeping the plane for 10 years or so. If you are expecting to flip the plane in a short time period for a profit we all know that's not going to happen. If you are planning to fly the plane for 10 years or so, you will get the value of having the...

Not at this time. My airplane is in for annual inspection right now. I will at least wait until after Oshkosh to see if there are any new developments in this area before deciding on anything.
