    Bob's Ramblings from the PB.

This isn't a flying story, it has to do with my co-pilot Ron. We were headed down to town on the bicycle built for two and the bike started to slow down. I looked back and Ron had his head down and he wasn't saying anything. I thought he had a heart attack or something. But when I looked closer...

    Bob's Ramblings from the PB.

A gal reminded me of a quilt that my wife Essie had made for a fellow worker of hers at the post office. His name is Tim McPheeters and he was a great track runner for me and I have mentioned him before in my ramblings. Well he and Essie had a love - hate relationship and this is a story that I...

Tim I would like to meet you also. However I really would like to fly back to Gastons so I can give a few more rides into that place called Thunder Ridge. I would like to have someone to meet me in Oregon and fly back with me in N9054N. I have a few that said they missed the chance last time to...

    2014 Gaston's Attendee List

One time I rode SW airlines to St. Louis and Dr. Bruce and Sue picked me up and took me to Gastons. And dropped me off in St. Louis on their way home. I just love those fine people. They even stopped by to visit me when they were out my way.

    2014 Gaston's Attendee List

Have they settled on a date as yet. I will mark it down and hope that I can get back there another time. I still owe a few rides to folks that didn't get to ride into Thunder Ridge on that Sat. with me.

    2014 Gaston's Attendee List

I miss not being to Gastons. However it is a long flight for me and a lot of gas money. I had so much fun last time I was there, flying all Sat. into that Thunder Ridge airstrip. I was tired but so happy to share my kind of flying with a bunch of other pilots and friends. I would like to come...

Why do our airplanes scare people?

Airliners land on the best airfields in the world, with help from Radar, controllers and have strict rules and regulations. I have seen several accidents with small planes in the Idaho back country. with non-standard airports and approaches. Short, one way, up slope landing sites that are not a...

    I hate Flying because ...

Because my friends never look at the "glass half empty" side. Because I own an airplane I am not rich. I have to scrape and save to afford to fly. I hate flying because I don't have the money to do more of the thing that I love. I hate flying because parts are so damn expensive. I hate flying...

A cool flight into Sulphur Creek, ID.

I made a flight into Sulphur Creek this morning and it was smoky from the fires in California. It was a good flight with some friends from my home town. It was beautiful in there this morning and a little on the cold side when we got there shortly after 9:00. About a 50 min flight from S49 and...

    Bob's Ramblings from the PB.

I have about run out of my stories, plus I can't remember which ones I have already told, without reading them all. I don't want to tell the same story over. I am already accused of that at my coffee shop in the mornings.

    Medford, OR flying and living?

I watched a gal pumping her own gas one time and she had a cigarette going in the same hand that she had the nozzel in. That might explain the reason we have to watch someone else pump the fuel. I worked my way through college at a Texaco service station for 3 and 1/2 years and I can't pump mine...

    Do you have insurance?

One time I got my front wheel on my 182 in a trench that hadn't been packed in. It was wet and the front wheel and the left main went down far enough to get the prop in the dirt. I had to have two new prop blades, engine tear down and replace crank and some other parts. The total bill was...
