    A Tower of Coins

Will they even take rolled coins anymore? Our CU gives us a clear bag to dump all change into, then sends it off to be counted. Shows up in our account a few days later.

    So, What's a Cloud, anyway?

Got them attached. Thanks for the help, everyone.

    So, What's a Cloud, anyway?

Well, D@mn... doesn't look like the attach image is working for me. I'll look at it again tomorrow. Disregard for now.

    So, What's a Cloud, anyway?

This has bothered me for quite a while, which I figure means that other people have the same question, but are afraid to ask. Or not. But, whatever.... These were around the DFW area on Sunday. What, exactly, constitutes a cloud that you would stay away from? I get the typical 1000, 500...

Long XC with Family - The Trip Home

Ah, makes sense. I didn't realize he wasn't on the radio.

Long XC with Family - The Trip Home

Hmm, not sure why you would have expected him to join the pattern, if he was set up for a straight-in approach. He may have been doing a practice instrument approach, or even if not, joining the pattern would have required an awkward downwind entry. I might even argue safety as a reason NOT...

    Frustration with the instrument written

It was $495, not including the exam fees. It did include the book they use for both the written and the practical. One nice thing for me is that I'm flying a 172 with a KLN94, which appears to be what they use at American Flyers. There is a lot of very specific 172/KLN94 procedural...

    Frustration with the instrument written

For what it's worth, I gave up on the self-study. I tried ASA, King, and Sheppard, but just couldn't get it done. I ended up at a weekend ground school through American Flyers. Got an 85 the day after the class ended, but more importantly, feel that I learned things beyond the class itself.

ADF Still on the IFR Written?

I took the IFR written a couple of months ago. No ADF questions for me.

    IFR Training - Opinion Needed

Things are actually looking good for today, with some possible actual IMC, which would be great. Oh, please, oh, please, oh, plea......

    IFR Training - Opinion Needed

To clarify, I'm maxed out on sim time already, so any additional time is for proficiency only. Not that that is a bad thing.

    IFR Training - Opinion Needed

I am wrapping up my IFR training and have been caught up in a nasty weather cycle in the Dallas area. In the last 14 days, I've managed to get about an hour in the sim (red bird) and the forecast for the next 10 days is looking like a lot of the same. That, along with the fact that lots of...

Jeez, I'm worn out just reading that. I bet you were exhausted! Good job! Congrats.

    Home Alarm Hardware/Companies

I actually own a commercial security company (no residential) and have referred a few people to SimpliSafe for their homes. Interesting concept, and I like the lack of contracts. Here are the things that I would watch out for (most already mentioned): 1) No long-term contracts 2)...

    ILS GS intercept

PT? With Westminster as the IAF? I don't think so. The Procedure Turn is for using Ricke as the IAF.

AA pilot to pax: "You can't see the stripes"?

Nice. So they've done what they should have in the first place, but make it seem like they're doing you a favor. Sounds like AA.

AA pilot to pax: "You can't see the stripes"?

My apologies if this has been mentioned before, but have you posted anything to Flyertalk? That is probably the droid you're looking for, rather than PoA. Post to the American AAdvantage forum. Having been an AA frequent flyer, including Executive Platinum for a few years, I can tell you that...

Instrument Written Passed - Write Up (VERY long-winded)

So, I passed my IRA Written today with a score of an 85. I'm very satisfied with this score and I wanted to pass on my experience, just in case it's of value to someone. I started flying in 1987, when I was 17. Good luck with the math on that one! As expected, I had all the time in the...
