Greenhorn wants to sell a plane. Use a broker??

That may be a valid strategy: Get an annual and lease it out. I do want to trade it into something pretty soon though.... We found a broker that has a history with our retired pilot.

Greenhorn wants to sell a plane. Use a broker??

The plane will stay in the company name. Trading to prevent sales tax would be a big problem plus. Thanks.

Greenhorn wants to sell a plane. Use a broker??

Not on this plane, but it would on a Bonanza. And yes, the idle time bothers me a bit.

Greenhorn wants to sell a plane. Use a broker??

It's a 414A. 3240 hrs, one owner, professional pilot, always hangared, front range of CO..... Out of annual 2+ years IIRC, not RAM converted, somewhere past mid life engines. I need to reveiew the logbooks, but one repair for hangar rash that I know of. No major damage. The number initially...

Greenhorn wants to sell a plane. Use a broker??

Backstory. Looking to sell a cabin class twin cessna that has been in our business since '78. I'm not comfortable, nor insurable to fly it, so it needs to go (legal to fly it, however very low time). I will replace it with a Bonanza of some sort, which would be reasonable to insure. Never...

    New Guy, Old Questions...

Consult with AME before the medical. Be honest and tell him about EVERYTHING, as there are a lot of conditions that preclude you from a medical. Some are navigable problems, some are navigable at great time and cost, some aren't.

Wife Threatened To Report Me To The FAA

Let me get this right. She wants to knowingly lie to a federal agency in order to extort you to keep "hidden" assets hidden in a divorce settlement. Bold move. Also, dumb.

Ocular migraines - What's the threshold for the FAA to want a neuro exam?

I used to get migraine with aura when I was younger, and had to rectify the medical history with the FAA. Your symptoms sound very similar to what I experienced, minus the preceding blurry vision. For me, I supplement my diet with magnesium. Give it a shot, it's cheap and safe if you are...

Congressman Involvement - Good or Bad?

BATFE- 9 months to a year to get a Form 4 back for a suppressor. E-file works for Form 1, why not for a Form 4?????? This is for legal firearms......a Constitutionally protected right. IRS- To verify your ID (previous ID theft) to get your tax return back, they provide a number to call should...

    BLM land

Keep in mind that those private companies are developing FEDERAL minerals for the benefit of the public good. It's not all bad. We need fuel to fly airplanes, drive trucks, cars, generate electricity, and run an economy. Federal lands are the one source utilized that actually pay royalties...

    BLM land

Those lands are leased. Kind of like an apartment, you don't own it, but as a lessee you can allow and disallow whomever you want, within lease restrictions. Oil companies and ranchers won't allow you in for a myriad of reasons. Liability is a big one, interference of their private...

    BLM land

Ah yessss....."wilderness area". Public land that .gov doesn't want you on. We (the people) own it, but we (the government) know better.

What are Your Thoughts About the DPE System?

Personally, any "insulation" you can get from direct contact with the FAA (or any other government agency) is a good thing, that's just me. I was not aware that the FAA could limit the number of DPE's for an area, which doesn't really surprise me.

    Studying the CFR's/AIM

Have any of you read (not just skimming, but for comprehension) all of part 91? Just sat down and read, line by line, all of it with a highlighter in hand for the good stuff you need to retain. Same thing for the AIM. The whole AIM. Front to back...all of it. If so, was it worth it? I'm...

    Twin Cessna insurance question

Suppose the OP only had a few hours of dual and a few in type on a newly minted multi rating with about 150 hours total time? Is it necessary to have tens of thousands of hours before they will even look at you? Obviously sim time would be required, but would rates be prohibitive?
