Here’s the latest from today’s flight…
The compass goes nuts (spinning like crazy) when my engine rpm is above 2500.
I brought along a separate compass and nothing happens to this portable compass while I’m running 2500 rpm.
At 2400 rpm, the compass is steady and normal.
I went for flight yesterday. The compass was just spinning like a top through cruise climb and while I leveled at 2500’ MSL for about 15 minutes. Once I cleared the bravo airspace I climbed to 4500’ MSL. The compass held a heading that was only 15 degrees difference from GPS, just gentle slow...
This may not turn out well for the folks that are waiting for (already paid) kits/parts etc. There's a lot of risk since its not guaranteed when the factory can deliver. If a large portion of customers waiting for their paid for orders do not accept the new pricing, the factory may not recover...
My garage is not insulated.
If I use insulation board to box in my work area during Winter, would that help keep in the warmth? (I would also run a space heater though.)
Thoughts, ideas?
Thanks!

I'm most thankful for the opportunity to build and fly my kitplane - God bless America!

Like your opinion if this is a buy to stay away from, or ok to buy if I like to tinker and work on it?
Thanks!
Yeah, I wasn't sure if we're allowed to name a business on this forum. I don't want to provide (free) advertisement, rather get a good part (name/number) I can use on my homebuilt carb heat control cable.
I’d posted under ‘homebuilts…’
This is not a certified airplane.
To my original post, if anyone know a applicable part number that I can buy on one of the popular websites; ie sound like aircraft screws and specialties.
Thanks
Hello,
I’m looking to replace my carb heat control cable with a button on the knob to lock and a ‘cable end’ to secure it on the carb heat door’s lever.
Anyone know the part number or name so I can order it at one of the website stores?
Thanks!
I was just thinking about this the other day...to swing the compass I have to taxi across the airport to get on the compass rose. If I just remove the compass completely, I can move the convex mirror to the center of my dashboard and get a better view!
...rid of 1/4 pound of compass weight.
