    Cirrus is amazing

I’ve had two opportunities to sit in the vision jet and am amazed at the visibility and the simplicity of the panel. The cabin is also really big considering how small it looks on the outside. I think it’s a really cool plane but unfortunately it’s a bit out of my price bracket.

Where to find a DPE in Atlanta / South East?

Another vote for Don Jones out of RHP. I’ve done a checkride with Don and Fred Houston. Whenever I actually get around to doing my commercial I’ll be going back to Don. He was friendly but also very fair.

Declared Emergency today - first flight with family

Don’t think any 150’s have electric fuel pumps.

Can Microsoft fix the pilot shortage?

They just need to convince Congress/ Faa to let pilots count 1200 Microsoft Flight Simulator hours towards ATP mins.

How to create your own maps for Foreflight

I made my own georeferenced Notam pages for Oshkosh when I was learning about how to do this. Just one application. https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/foreflight-georeferenced-osh-notam-pages

    Best program?

I have a subscription to FlyQ and Foreflight and never use FlyQ. I wanted to like it because of their lifetime subscriptions but I just like foreflight so much better.

    North up vs track up

I actually learned something useful in this thread! I just updated my setting in Waze to North Up!

What's Best, Cheapest Way Reach Lic. & Quals??

Try to find the cheapest rental possible. Find a club to joint and fly often. Ideally you can join a tach time club that has a Cessna 150 or something similarly sized. $5k is on the extreme cheap end. If you did it all in 40 hours of airplane time and 40 hours of CFI time, you’d have to make...

Training for more back pressure during flare

    I wouldn’t be too concerned in a 172, but I wouldn’t try that in a 182!

Training for more back pressure during flare

Try not to land. Seriously. See how long you can keep the plane off the runway. You can also try to think of the yoke as a ratchet that only goes one way. You can ease it back, but don’t push forward. This works for most cases and the mental image may help you

North Up or Track Up - Poll

I wanted to make a poll after reading through the other thread. I was surprised to see a lot of track up guys. I’ve always been a north up fan, but haven’t given track up a fair shot either. I just get annoyed and change it back to north up quickly.

New spin video from Microsoft's new flight simulator!

The rumor is that it will not require a super expensive computer to run but will require a good internet connection and a credit card to pay the subscription fee.

    Time for tailwheel

I’m in the same boat as you. I typically fly a 182 and picked up the IR not too long ago. The CFI said I was proficient in our club champ after about 8 hours but I need to get one more lesson in to get to 10 hours for insurance before solo. I think 10 hours is a pretty good estimate for to...
