O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

That's great, and a smart way to do it! But, using that same MH chart, a 24 cu ft cylinder without any kind of conserving device will last about 5.6 hours at 18,000'. That's probably plenty if you're by yourself, but if I was carrying my family, we'd run out in less than 2 hours. Sure, you could...

    UFQ L2 ANR in-ear headset

I found a way to get tips as large as the Comply Canal tips that Clarity uses onto the UFQ L2. I bought these Westone tips on Amazon. They have a plastic core which makes it not fit on the L2. This can be fixed in two ways: Use pliers to twist and remove the plastic core from the foam tip. This...

O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

The article I read said $1500 for a used Eclipse. Might find them cheaper now, but your article also warned about degraded performance when buying used. I think if I went the POC route I'm leaning towards two (new) Inogen G5's. I could use one and my wife and daughter would probably be fine...

O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

Even Mountain High’s chart doesn’t claim a 10x endurance advantage over straight cannula. Using their chart (which I linked to in the first post), at the 15,000’ example, they claim their O2D2 provides a 3x endurance over straight cannula and a 1.3x advantage over oxymizer cannula. When using...

O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

Sure, but the Eclipse is $3,000, 19”x12” and 18 pounds, and the OxyFly is a 55-pound monstrosity which costs $13,500! Well, I suppose the easiest option would be to use battery packs. I can get a third/external generator for my plane, but it seems absurd to go to that extent when there are...

O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

Yes, but the 18,000 ft figure is supplying to one person only. When supplying two people the max altitude is 15,000 ft. And since I have a family of three, I would need two of them. I got a reply from Precise Flight. (See attached image.) Definitely not getting 20 hours on a 6.3 cu ft tank...

O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

That would be great if it was 20 hours on a 6.3 cu ft tank! But I can't find those numbers anywhere on their website. I'll email them. It's not just a standard fixed flow system I'm comparing it to. It's the SkyOx regulator, recommended in Dr Bruce's post, coupled with pendant-style conserving...

O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

Yeah, I have that post bookmarked. I don't I want a cylinder quite that large due to weight and space, but I agree with the rest of the post. Yes, I seriously considered that for quite a while. A few problems are: One concentrator can only supply two people, and then limited to 15,000' Would...

O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

You say 20 hours on a bottle but don't say what size. Why doesn't Precise Flite publish their endurance numbers? SkyOx can also get you 20+ hours on 22 cu ft or larger bottle. Like MH, Precise Flite is a fortune compared to SkyOx. PF wants $1750 for a 4-place system, and that doesn't include the...

Citation needed. I looked into Precise Flight but couldn’t find any endurance numbers in their website.

O2 conservation - MH vs SkyOx

Looking at the various O2 conserving systems for operating at FL180 and below. Everyone seems to rave about Mountain High, but check out this comparison: - Mountain High 4-place system with a 15-cu ft cylinder is $2200. - SkyOx 4-place system with a 15-cu ft cylinder is $638 - With the Mountain...

Any member here based out of FTY?

I would love to get a hangar there, too. That whole north side of the airport could accommodate a huge row of T-hangars, if they would just let it happen. I tried to drive by there via Sandy Creek Road, but they have that road blocked off. I emailed the county a while back - no reply. I don't...

For Sale: Partnership Cirrus SR22 Atlanta PDK - partnership

Stay tuned for a series of videos, basically a video build manual, to be published from the factory. (I believe it will be published on the Sling Aircraft YouTube channel.) Anyway, my plane will be the one featured in that video series.

For Sale: Partnership Cirrus SR22 Atlanta PDK - partnership

I'm no longer part of that group, I decided to go on my own and build a Sling TSi. Great group of guys, but I felt like it was going to take too long for the club to come to fruition. I think @jfox1995 is in that group. I'd PM him your email address and he can probably add you to their email list.

Register N-number previously involved in fatal accident?

If you type the tail number in Google, the fatal accident is the second hit. She probably won't care, just might be a bit of a shocker!

Register N-number previously involved in fatal accident?

That's the next question, for all you married guys; do I tell my wife about the history of this N-number, or just hope she doesn't find out? (I'm choosing the tail number for us; it includes our birthdays and our initials!)

Register N-number previously involved in fatal accident?

That wouldn't bother me at all. I've flown ship number 666 (a 757 at my airline) plenty of times. Somebody has scribbled "El Diablo" on the panel by the ship number. :D I once heard a guy ask for a different squawk code when the one he was assigned included 666. I think that's just ridiculous...

Register N-number previously involved in fatal accident?

It shows available on the FAA database, that’s the reason I’m considering it. I only found out later about the accident after googling.

Register N-number previously involved in fatal accident?

True. This particular fatal accident was only a few months ago. As soon as my wife Googles the N-number I'm going to hear about it! lol

Register N-number previously involved in fatal accident?

Would you use an N-number on your plane if that N-number was previously involved in fatal accident? I'm not superstitious myself, but wonder if it might affect resale. Hopefully not too many prospective buyers are superstitious, either!
