    Towers snitching on aborted take-offs?

Doors opening in flight? That's what I thought rudder trim was for in a 182.

Guess who had an engine failure...

Didn't he decide to shut down and feather after it started blowing oil out the cowling? Unless I needed every last bit from the dying engine, I would certainly shut down an engine that was puking oil.

    Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

I made love to an optometrist once. It was horrible. She kept asking, "Better like this... or better like this..."

    Not leaning enough?

I watched the Mike Busch video again. The key point is that following the POH may be the correct legal procedure, but it is not necessarily the best procedure. One of the key points was that Embry Riddle bought a lot of 172s and operated them according to the POH. They experienced a...

    Taliban helicopter training 101...

Gryder has already insulted the moped-certified head of the NTSB. He says it's a lack of understanding AQP, DMMS and Vref. Abdul, you gotta learn these things.

    Not leaning enough?

Have your club bite the bullet and put in iridium plugs in the lower holes. Lean aggressively on the ground. Problem solved. Mag checks will be perfect and your plugs will remain relatively clean. And that's if you never lean in flight.

Is basic flight simulators fun or boring?

It's training. You can do things in sims you can't or shouldn't do IRL. Set failures to a short enough period that you will get a vacuum failure in hard IMC. Can you pick it up? What do you do? Same thing with engine failure. Do you know your checklist? My set up allows me to use my iPad...

    X-Plane 12 is now available.

I read some articles on the best laptops for gaming, and several recommended the Acer I ultimately bought. I am using whatever graphics Acer put in the machine.

    X-Plane 12 is now available.

I tried to download X12 tonight. The Windows loader would not install. XP12 uses something called Vulkan, and that needs high-powered graphics cards. I bought a new computer about 6 months ago which was specifically recommended for gaming. I guess it's not enough. X11 runs fine, though, so I...

CFI and student die in crash SMO

Isn't the non-instructing pilot's freezing on the controls thought to be the cause of the 182 crash last year in Florida? I don't know if it's fair to call him a student, since he was an experienced pilot. But he was getting a BFR or something from an instructor. The 182 did a stall, dropped...

    This crash will have consequences.

The problem is that we are running out of conspiracy theories. They are all turning out to be true.
