[N/A] Do people not Tip Anymore?

I have a belief: If you ask yourself, "Should I tip this person?" Then the answer is always, "Yes." Makes life simple.

Kobe Bryant dead in helicopter crash

What seems disingenuous to me is to assume that learning to fly in simulated conditions, prepares you for actual. Thankfully, my instructor had me fly in as much actual as simulated. I did not find simulated nearly as worthwhile as actual.

"Flying the Feathered Edge". I highly recommend it.

Kobe Bryant dead in helicopter crash

I agree completely. I have my IR and need to stay current, so I avoid simulated instrument conditions as much as possible. No comparison, if you ask me.

How do you know he's not? Bob Hoover was a great pilot, one of the best. But how did he get there? Did he become that good by never pushing himself? I'm not advocating trying Bob Hoover stunts, but if a person takes baby steps to improve themselves, the sky's (literally) the limit.

Same reason you probably fly a single, and not a twin. That single leaves you down to one option, when there are plenty of twins for sale.

But it is much, MUCH more likely the problem would already be reveled. And there is also no guarantee that switching tanks will take care of the problem, or no guarantee that both tanks will have a problem.

In the warrior, I would do it for the reason @Salty said, to keep remaining fuel in one tank. I wouldn't worry too much about water, dirt, or blocked vent, as in my warrior I've already been switching back and forth between tanks a couple of times already, on a long flight. If there had been a...

I agree Brian. I guess I just had to see for myself. Incidentally, the one time I did it I tried to do it as safely as possible: near my home drone there is a large (probably close to several full-sections-sized) sod farm. I climbed to about 9000 feet above the sod farm, pulled the power to...

    I ran the numbers

I can officially say "No" because I'm in the same situation, and I'm currently saying "no".

Kudos to you. I've tried this before as well (and I was also recommended to not do it), in my warrior. I had an actual dead stick once many years ago, and I always felt I managed more on luck than skill during that episode, so since then I've tried to improve my skills. I tried gliding first...

    Blue Collar Pilots

Seems to be quite a bit of B-hurt in these posts, but in the attempt to avoid the label of privilege, some people are showing some, um, well, privilege. LOL

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but not that. Sounded like it was flying slowly, but maybe its just hard to tell from audio.

    Flight following on short flight?

    That's why I don't, when I don't.

Who here plays a musical instrument?

Music runs in the family. Everyone in my immediate family plays multiple instruments. I play piano, sax, clarinet, harmonica, guitar, and ukulele. My brother is a professional musician, lead singer/lead man. My mother was a music teacher for a junior high, plays pretty much everything but...

Where to brokers find “cheap” planes?

The next time I sell, I'll use a broker. I like buying airplanes, but I can't stand selling airplanes. When selling you get too many phone calls from guys that just wanna talk airplanes, or don't have a license, or want a free airplane ride, or want to offer you less than 50% the plane's...

Gosh darn hindsight... I hate you

Many years ago, my dad was having minor surgery, and I was reading a money magazine I picked up in the hospital. They were talking about a computer company, and the article was compelling enough, I bought a couple grand worth of stock (which for me, just out of college, was big money). I...

You mean the suspended jail time? It basically means if you comply with probation, you don't go to jail.

Nice! When I first saw "exceptionally clean" I thought, 'yeah yeah, so says everyone' but then looking at the pics, it looks like a show plane!
