    e-readers: recommendations?

Use the Libby app with your local library card. TONS of free books, and should work on just about any reader. I use my Google Nexus 2.0 and Ipad Mini 4.

Flight shaming due to carbon footprint

Yup, so long as the greenies can blame capitalists for the disasters... data and the truth be damned! :)

Requirements for overflying Niagra on the Canadian side

You just ask ATC for the falls tour. VERY Specific requirements for routing, all visual landmarks. I think you have to be above 3,500 MSL. The procedure is charted kinda like an instrument plate, so its easy to find. You do end up in Canadian airspace, but it doesnt matter. Although you...

    Recommend a goal aircraft.

I'm in a partnership with a 182, and don't have exact measurements avail at the moment. But am flying it later today, so will take a tape measure and report back tomorrow. What I do know is the 182 is 4" wider than a 172. Probably about 4" more leg room and a few inches more head room.

    Columbia Aircraft Serice- Bloomsburg, PA

So, no one's got any idea about them? Its kinda weird, because they have a nice looking webpage, and have been in business for over 75 years. There are 3 good google reviews about them, but I thought possibly to get some other feedback from folks here.

    Niacin flush

I used it a number of years ago, take it right before bed, then the flush doesn't matter. My Dr. at the time claimed the no flush doesn't work, or no where near as well.

Can we have an open and honest discussion about RPMs?

I had always wondered about the same thing, so awhile back looked it up, and there is a simple calculation to figure out torque. hp x 5,252 / RPM = torque So, Lycoming 360 makes 180 hp at 2,700 rpm 180 x 5,252 / 2,700 = 350 ft lbs of torque. or my favorite: IO520 300 x 5,252 / 2,700 = 583...

    Mt. Washington in August

I thought about HIE, but no rental car made it a no go. I'd also suspect that the winds there could be rather tricky, depending which way they are blowing. Fryeburg has a nice "hill" about 2 miles west of the runway, and it was a semi exciting landing, with the winds something like 7 gust to...

    Mt. Washington in August

Also, KIZG (Fryeburg, ME) was a great stop to visit Mt. Washington. Easy set up to get an Enterprise car delivered from Conway, NH. Dave is the manager at KIZG and very helpful. Nice airport. The only thing to be aware of is the winds can be tricky, as its close enough to some big rocks that...

    Mt. Washington in August

Thanks for the info about VGC, I'm planning to land at Griffiss and take a crew car for lunch. But if that doesn't work out for some reason, good to know Hamilton is a back up. :)

    Mt. Washington in August

Since this trip is getting closer, I was thinking about the best way to file the initial day, which will be IFR. Toledo to Rome, NY KRME for a lunch/potty/ fuel stop, then onto Bar Harbor. Should I file it that way, with a note about a 2 hr stopover? Or file two seperate plans?
