Not really on topic, but I love your last paragraph about the custom motorcycles. Having been a sport touring motorcycle rider for many years, who did ride to other states for lunch. Most of the time what you describe are Harley owners. Sometimes teenagers with extended wheelbase "Busas, but...
C182- Ipad Mini with Ram mount suction cup, on the left side of the windscreen. No interference with any controls. Works great there and easy to see. I first tried it on a kneeboard, but flying in the soup, and looking up to the panel and back down to the IPAD was not good.
Nothing to worry about. They most likely know about the updrafts, and typically 200' or less they won't say anything. More than that they might, but it depends. 300' and you might get a radio call with the altimeter setting.... As a gentle nudge :)
While Honda and Toyota's CVT's are probably better than Nissans (a VERY low bar to hurdle), the issue with an older used car with a CVT rears its ugly head when it needs fixed. Nissan CVT's are not repairable in any way, the only option is a brand new one, so $4k+. While I bet the Honda and...
As to why some planes seem to hold so much oil, it has to do with how much oil its "allowed" to burn per hour.
Take for example my 182K model. It has an O-470 which holds 12 qts of oil, but will run on as little as 4 qts.
So why does it hold 12 qts? With long range tanks, and the power...
Sorry to hear about the foot, hopefully it heals quickly.
And the 133/63 reading is not really even high bp, Very slightly high side of the normal range. In many countries, 125/85 is considered "normal".
I had a co worker a few years ago who regularly had readings of 180/110! Now that is...
I've been using either a double edged razor, or single edge since about 2013. Stumbled onto the Badger and Blade website when trying to figure out how to get a good shave on my neck. I would always get bumps and redness using either a Trac II, or Mach whatever. Used an electric for awhile...
Its not really near STL, but TAS Aviation in Defiance OH is highly recommended. https://tas-aviation.com/
Plus, in that 310, not really too far anyway. :)
"Almost makes one nit want to know and not get a higher class medical, even if you have the Com cert (teach only)."
If you are just instructing, you do not need a 2nd class medical, only 3rd class. (OR BasicMed, but that comes with some caveats)
Really, that was a simulation...... huh, I had no idea......rolleyes. I'm guessing though that the airspeeds, altitude and vsi data shown were based on somewhat accurate information?
Just watched the video, and I was also wondering the same about best glide speed as was posted back in November-
"Looking at the altimeter winding down and the high IAS, what is the best glide speed for this aircraft?
CT LS says 78 kts no flap and for CT SW 63 kts with 15 degree flap."
It...
Salty-
In the 182 I fly, it has an STEC-50 along with a GTN 650 and G5. The STEC really only works correctly if you leave it in heading mode. If you put it in NAV mode, it will do weird stuff. Then on the G5 I select ether Heading mode or GPSS. Tracks the GPS course perfectly, anticipates...
Sounds like exactly what happened to me in our C182K. It was the governor. Took awhile to actually fail, as in many months. It was very intermittent, then eventually failed on me during a family trip :(
Had to fly about 2 hours home with the prop full forward. Very low power setting...
If you are talking about a fee based advisor, 1.25% annual is normal, although that figure is most likely based on total amount of $ under management. A sliding scale, so 1.25% might be for anything under say $250K, then 1% for $250k-500K. Then maybe .85% for 500K-1MM etc. You should not pay...
