    Mooney M20M Bravo

Mooney Bravo's are fast, that's for sure. They are turbo'd so be careful on the maintenance if you aren't familiar already. The catch is useful load/payload; you won't be getting much of it. Usually less than 1,000lbs and it depends on which configuration you get. If you get AC and/or TKS, it'll...

    Air-to-Air Cessna 205

I really enjoy your photos that you take. Would you mind sharing some of your processes to capture these? I assume you're using both 1DX's simultaneously, each with one of the lenses mentioned in your signature, depending on what shot you're going for? What do you fly in to capture these? These...

    Mooney gone?

It was up briefly last night and then it went back down. I know they recently did a software upgrade so that may be part of it.

    Mooney back in American hands!

"I used a non-statistical sampling of POA users to determine that Mooney will not succeed" is an interesting take.

Low time pilot insuring a retract?

When I bought my Mooney I had maybe 80 hours total time and I wasn't instrument rated and my insurance was ~$650/year. That was in 2013; insurance rates have gone up a lot since then across the board. But to answer your question, yes you can get insurance. They may require a check out or a...

    Mooney back in American hands!

Why wouldn't you want an aircraft manufacturer to succeed? Their success is a net positive for general aviation. I reject the premise that rooting for their success requires I be part of the solution. I'm not the target market for a brand new Mooney or any brand new aircraft, but that doesn't...

    Mooney back in American hands!

I'm not sure how this is a problem. Cessna, Piper, and Beechcraft have all been using the same designs in some form for the same amount of time and yet Piper is still selling new Archers, Cessna is still selling new 172's, and Beechcraft is still selling new straight tail Bonanzas. They may not...

    Mooney back in American hands!

I'm hopeful that this will work out and I wish them the best. Unfortunately their track record as of late hasn't shown them to be achieving much success. As a Mooney owner and a Mooney fan, I'd certainly like to see things like a retrofit gross weight increase or purpose a re-purposing of some...

Glider Pilot violated by FAA for impromptu airshow

The FAA requires airshow performers to have a Statement of Aerobatic Competency (SAC) in order to do that. https://www.avweb.com/features/so-you-want-to-be-an-airshow-pilot/ https://fsims.faa.gov/wdocs/notices/n8900_356.htm

Glider Pilot violated by FAA for impromptu airshow

This was also posted in a thread about a Premiere 1 pilot getting reported: https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/premier-1-driver-reported-to-faa-by-pilot.126817/#post-2938418 Bruno is the most active American YouTuber I've found (so far) that has good quality glider videos. He's...

    Hiking/Backpacking Destinations

You can always start at the beginning of the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain, GA. There are shuttle services that will take you to the trail head or pick you up. There are several airports in the area that would work. 49A, KJZP, KCNI, and KDZJ to name a few.

    Hiking/Backpacking Destinations

If you hike some of the bigger trails, a lot of places offer rides to/from the trailheads for a small fee. Some airports allow you to land and camp/hike starting from the airport. What do you fly and what area do you want to backpack in?

Glad it worked out and we could all have lunch. Little bumpy on the way back and dodged some storms, but it's that time of year.
