Car gas and Av Gas basically the same price in LA

At my home airport of KCHD, 100ll is $5.44 / gallon. Car gas is $3.69 - $3.89 / gallon. I'm not really trying to say anything about this. Just mentioning an interesting observation. http://www.100ll.com/showfbo.php?HashID=7019e328f5b737f49a8cfa57a59538eb...

Car gas and Av Gas basically the same price in LA

According to gasbuddy.com, the prices of car gas around KHHR is between $4.19 and $4.99 / gallon. According to 100ll.com, gas at KHHR is $5.04 / gallon (self serve). I just spot checked this one location, but this certainly seems strange for car gas and av gas to be nearly the same price.

    Largest non-complex single engine aircraft?

Wow! What did you do to 'skinny' it down so much? Is the R just inherently lighter than the S?

    Largest non-complex single engine aircraft?

This is probably the only plane that meets your exact criteria. https://www.flyingmag.com/pilot-reports/pistons/six-seat-stalwart-used-pa-32-review/ However... "The original Cherokee Six had a six-cylinder 260 hp Lycoming with a fixed-pitch propeller as standard. The fixed-pitch prop produced...

    Largest non-complex single engine aircraft?

Don't be afraid of the Constant Speed propeller. It's just a blue knob that goes between the black and red ones. Avoiding the complexity of retractable landing gear is probably a good idea though. Go fly a 182. It's the natural progression. 150 - > 172 - > 182. I started off in a 150 for...

I think this happened in South Africa. They may have different rules there. Don't know for sure.

Aircraft Stalls as Skydivers Prepare to Jump

Wow! It gets really exciting at ~1:20. Another one comes out at 1:43. Yikes!!! -- Copy / Paste from reddit -- PILOT's PERSPECTIVE: The aircraft was inspected and is undamaged. The jump run procedure entails setting flaps 60-80 and bringing back the left engine to flight idle. We also...

    PA28 down in Cape Cod

As with many things, the problem here is that if you crash a plane, sometimes you'll kill people on the ground, or possible burn their house down. It's the constant balance between individual and collective rights and freedoms.

How much time to spend on Pre-Flight?

A good follow up question is how much shorter does the pre-flight get when you're starting the return le Great feedback. It's a checklist, not a do list.

How much time to spend on Pre-Flight?

I know the right answer is, "you take as long as you need to take". But I guess what I'm really after is "how long do you usually spend on the pre-flight"? I feel like I take forever to get through the pre-flight. I timed it the other day and from the time i walked up to the plane I rent...

    Beech down northern Wisconsin

Looking at the flightaware data, once the plane starts to descend, the speed also decreases dramatically. Does that seem odd to anyone, or is it just me? If he was incapacitated, I'd imagine he'd slump forward and probably push the yoke forward. That would cause an increase in speed. Once...

No Ammeter Reading - Would You Scrub?

You mad the right call. I had a total electrical failure in a 172 in Delta airspace while trying to land because of an alternator failure. You don't want to mess around with this stuff. In my case, at some point during the flight, the alternator field circuit breaker popped and the ammeter...
