Has anyone here ever flown into P01? This was an interesting write up by a guy that flew there back in 2010. It's tucked in the corner of some restricted airspace. You can get clearance to fly in, but you follow a state highway at 500' AGL for about 35 miles. Seems like a fun flight to try...

The POH lists prop speeds between 2,000 RPM and 2,400 RPM for cruise flight. That makes sense. When I did this with my CFI, I did just abruptly push it in. I should be more gradual with the changes in general, and probably make changes using the Vernier dial rather than just pushing it in.

As an Arizona native and current resident, I would highly discourage this, but not for the reasons you're suggesting. Nobody wants to sit in a GA airplane without AC for any length of time in June here. Having said that, I did finish my private certificate in the summer time. lol

In my experience, most of the savings on Hobbs vs Tach time comes from the time spent at idle taxing and waiting to take off. But you make a good point.

I'm in an equity based non-profit club. The Archer is $125 / tach hour. That averages out to ~$100 / Hobbs hour. On top of the hourly rate, you pay a monthly fee. I'm not including that in my price estimate.
