    A-Fib?

Ok...I really am asking for a friend. I've always seen that in a post and laugh...but I'm serious. So this guy is in his 60's. He's not feeling well, and goes to Dr. and he has a fever and low BP and discovers hes in tachycardia. Dr. calls ambulance and he goes into a-fib in ambulance but he...

    Accuracy of AOPA VRef

Tim - BSV’s are priced all over the place. They are unique and I don’t personally think VREF works for those planes. Its not a huge fleet. There are many that haven’t sold because only a few people want to spend big $$ on a BSV’s. Others have remained unsold for a long time even at low prices...

    The big move!

I was once relocated for job to Jersey (20 yrs ago). I stayed one year. My wife always says “we weren’t relocated...we were SENTENCED to Jersey!” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New IR student, first flight today!

I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to be able to do it. The first few lessons were enjoyable but then thing started piling up; radio work; weather; GPS programming, indents, approach procedures and briefing the approach and I felt like I had never flown before! Then BAM it all came together and...

Should I take my knowledge test first before going to a flight school?

Everyone learns differently. I like reading material and then seeing it happen in real life. I can’t imagine studying navigation for the test without having been up in a plane an experienced things like heading and wind correction, etc. But, that’s how I learn best. Also, and I think this is...

    Curious weather briefing

KCEF is always forecasting Armageddon from what KBAF reports. I have KBAF to me more in line with what I see flying out of 7B2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fatal crash near Philly

My CFI always drilled into me that you have to be on the instruments BEFORE transitioning to the muck. So if it’s a low ceiling you’ve got to get focused on your scan quickly. Otherwise it’s easy to get behind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

May have fibbed on last medical....

I’m just curious why this is just a Dr Bruce issue. It seems it’s also an aviation attorney issue. Making a false statement on a medical application is one problem. The actual medical condition which occurred is the other one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Incomplete Instrument Checkride

Well it’s possible I read more into it. Just trying to make sense of a “fail” on a radio call. So I took the liberty of elaborating on possibilities. That’s the POA way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Incomplete Instrument Checkride

Not sure what the disconnect is here. My comments had to do with an IFR check-ride. I was trying to address the larger issue of transitioning from approach to arrival at uncontrolled field. I guess my training was different. If I’m flying the RNAV approach into an uncontrolled airport ATC gives...

    Incomplete Instrument Checkride

Was it the delay in responding to the “change frequency” call or what would follow? You have to make CTAF calls and make sure you understand what is happening at that airport. It unclear if OP monitored AWOS at airport or CTAF to know what was happening in the pattern. Was that the bigger issue...

    Incomplete Instrument Checkride

Well my guess is there are as many different check ride stories as there are pilots and DPE’s. I do think your bigger issue should be with instruction and why someone didn’t spend more time on approaches into uncontrolled airports. I do a lot of those and there are a few more headaches as to...

    Been away for a while.

A low time pilot battling some problems on a long x-country and then 35+ winds on landing. That might have sent me packing as well! I took 15 years off for family and finances and career. When I got back I needed more instruction than I thought to get proficient. I decided after that to just...

Morbid enamoring - Why? An open Letter

Wow - I don’t really get OP’s rant on this. Sorry if you think everyone’s “RIP” and “sad” statements are not genuine. Aviation -especially general aviation - is a very risky hobby with a small margin for error. I always have some measure of trepidation when I fly - I can’t say that’s the same...
