What the Heck is a Funnel Gunnel?

No I've seen it plenty of times but not for years. First time watching it as a pilot though and immediately stopped to figure out what a funnel gunnel was since there are hundreds of them.

What the Heck is a Funnel Gunnel?

So he sees a lot of boats there at land locked Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport while working what appears to be Atlanta Center. Hmm.

What the Heck is a Funnel Gunnel?

From the Movie Summer Rental. Never heard that term before all I know is microburst. Weather experts where are you? Video here if you want to watch what the plane does:

Plane lands on Golf Course in Evansville, IN

Gimme a break...[pilot] may not be long off the tee, but he's got a pretty good up and down game.

    Missing the Flag Flip

I think you both are right and it's also a little information overload. Since it's a manual non autopilot hold I am focusing my attention on altitude, track etc as well. Which is causing me to miss it sometimes.

    Missing the Flag Flip

During Holding Patterns I sometimes miss the flag flip. If I am not staring right at it it's so sudden that I miss it and end up starting timer late. Is there any tricks out there to making it more noticeable? Or a beep or something? G1000.

    Do Insurance Companies Use Failures?

Doing IFR training and concerned about not passing Checkride. Was curious if insurance companies look at failed Checkride to determine insurance rates? Not even sure if they have the ability to check that or not.

    Angel Flight Co-Pilot?

Would love to do Angel/Mercy Flight volunteering, something I have passion for, however after I finish my IFR training I'll be short on the 250 PIC requirement. Was reading the Angel Flight Manuals and it's states "Co-pilots are optional and not required" Was curious if anyone has ever...

    Do you tip your CFI?

I bought my CFI a breakfast sandwich from dunkin before mostly every flight since I knew he wouldn't eat all day because he had back to back flights. And on New Years I gave him $100 "bonus" Guess based on the above I am strange.

Mute Radio Chatter for Co-pilot G1000?

Don't think it would work. The rear passengers cannot hear the pilot.

Mute Radio Chatter for Co-pilot G1000?

I am not sure this would work because I believe only the passengers can hear each other not the pilot. I don't have an extension cable to test it out or any passengers to experiment with. Maybe Gary can update us for future readers. That should do the trick for now, thanks.

Mute Radio Chatter for Co-pilot G1000?

Is there a way to mute the ATC radio chatter for co-pilot (passenger) but still allow them to hear and speak to me on intercom? I know you can do it for passengers in back so they don't hear the chatter but can still talk to each other but I am referring to co-pilot position. Specially what I...

    Alternative to PlaneEnglish?

Yeah I have been doing that but there are slow times or clarity issues. So I waste a lot of time trying to find something. That's why I like plane English. I have a few minutes free I'll open app and do a lesson. Just annoying it's monthly.

    Alternative to PlaneEnglish?

Love the PlaneEnglish app but hate monthly scriptions. I like to be able to finish at my speed and also be able to go back months later to refresh. I am willing to pay a premium to have access forever so looking for an app like PlaneEnglish where you buy it and that's it. This is to practice...

I don't understand the meow joke. I mean on guard makes sense cause it's guard frequency and you are "on guard" . But what's the relevance of the meow joke? Are these pilots just fans of Super Troopers or is there some other meaning. I mean why meow instead of fart noises, singing or any other...
