    Warrior Partnership

^^THIS^^ You will have partner turnover whether they finish their private or not. It's not always easy to find new ones that are complimentary to the other partners needs. A good agreement could help but isn't bulletproof. Is the plane owned by an LLC?

    New GA owner

If I ever upgrade to a twin a 310 would def be on the short list. That's a great example. Autopilot? Since I'm spending your $$$, a GTN750 and GTX345 will fit nicely in that stack. Take out the other stuff and just keep the King 165 as #2 nav/com. The Garmin 400 might bring 2K.

    Avionics upgrade

Thought I'd share the avionics updates just done on my Bonanza. The GTN750 replaced a GNS530 a few months back. At that time we also upgraded to the GTX345 t-ponder and PS Engineering audio panel with BT. Works great. Just got the plane back Friday after having two G5's installed along with the...

Newbie getting their PPL, buy a plane for hours and training or buy to keep?

You could buy a pretty nice Grumman Tiger for less than 100K. Back seat folds so getting a bike in might be a possibility. Never tried. It's a good 3 person plane, even 4 with good DA. Figure 135kts. In the 100K range you could get a nice v-tail Bonanza. 160 knots, 4 seats, beautiful flying...

(UPDATE-BOUGHT A PLANE)Airplane NEWB - May need a plane for business, help me find the best option

If you don't need six seats get a V35 Bonanza. It will do fine on a grass strip which while I'm sure people do it is not ideal with a Cirrus. If you're serious about having a grass strip that does require more thought to your choices.

    Basic Med and AME

I had mine done at a DOT place only to find out the same thing. The guy who did the evaluation was apparently not an MD, which I didn't know. When it was time to sign the form he excused himself and came back 5 minutes later saying he couldn't sign it but a doc would be in later and I could pick...

Does anyone wash the bottom of their aircraft

I have a creeper and clean the belly about every 2 months. It's easier if you don't let it get out of hand. I use something appropriately named Belly Wash which is in a spray bottle and wipes off. 100LL works just as well and I have heard good things about GOJO as well.

    Fixed Gear Vs. Retracts

There was only a problem in the early years when they were using the "purple glue". Those planes have been fixed by now and later models switched over and had no issues. I believe mid-76 and later had the better adhesive.

    Bo vs. Arrow

Go well beyond NE, especially in rough air, and at some point every airplane will break.

    Bo vs. Arrow

That's an issue with any Continental with those cylinders. Not just Beech. You seem to be dragging the bottom here. Is that your m o? Any pre buy would disclose that condition and pricing adjusted accordingly. C'mon, bring on another straw man.

    Bo vs. Arrow

I'm well aware of the AD's on my plane. None are remotely problematic or expensive. Since you brought it up, why don't you share with us all the onerous ones?

    Bo vs. Arrow

    Such as?

    Bo vs. Arrow

Let me know how many are flying around in IMC at 160+ knots. You are really reaching. Get serious. Edit: I also owned a Viking. An inspection showed the wing spar was 90 percent compromised. Had to replace the wings.

    Bo vs. Arrow

His point, which you missed apparently, is that most parts like engines, instruments, etc are commonly sourced. Actual airframe parts would only be needed in the event of an "event".
  19. Glen R

    Bo vs. Arrow

There is no flutter issue unless they are not balanced properly. Only reason they would be out of balance if they were swapped or painted and no rebalance was done. Pretty basic stuff. As far as corrosion, most of the fleet is over 40 years old. If you leave them outside with peeling paint, yes...

    Bo vs. Arrow

I'm sure you know the answer to this. At some point Beech lengthened the chord on the ruddervator which left more unsupported structure forward of the spar. At high speeds (most were VMC into IMC with loss of control) a big pull on the yoke caused several tail failures. Beech took too long to...
