Grumman Tiger Vs Mooney M20C or E

I owned a Tiger for five years. I loved the plane. Maintenance costs were minimal but it was a good example. I did fly with four people on occasion but not on short fields or super hot days. Visibility was great as was handling. Got my IFR in it. Don't know about the Mooney. When I got back into...

    No BFR due to COVID

Not sure if this has been addressed already. I couldn't find anything. My BFR was due by the end of March and my CFI and I agreed to postpone it. Does anyone know if the FAA has addressed BFR's specifically in terms of an extension of sorts?

    Covid-19 shelter-in-place rules and GA

AOPA letter to FAA. My BFR was scheduled for Wednesday and cancelled. I run off at the end of the month so I'm following this.

    SwitchBox Control

I have one and use the ATT SIM card. It's always been a crap shoot as to whether or not it will work which kind of defeats the purpose.

John F Kennedy Jr’s style was sloppy

I was flying that day in the same general area. Heading from KFRG to KSLK. Haze was thick and although newly instrument rated I wasn't comfortable and my Tiger at the time didn't have an a/p. It was stressful flying and after half an hour I elected to turn back. I had a buddy with me and we were...

Why do older people drive corvettes?

I can take it for about an hour or so. My back is fine but some wrist problems are developing. It sure is fun though. The 2020 Corvette does look interesting ...

Why do older people drive corvettes?

I'm 63. I have a 427 Cobra and a ZX-14R Ninja. Corvettes are for losers. Now get off my lawn.

Grumman Tiger, good bad and ugly

I had four adults in mine and took off on a hot day from a short field. Would not do it again. With plenty of runway, not an issue. I think my useful was around 980. I had a cruise sensenich prop.

How do you forget to lower the gear?

As far as this applies to a v-tail, your first cue should be the plane will not slow down.

    The Cirrus factor

I fly a V35b and did rent a Cirrus for a while before buying the Bo. I liked the Cirrus. It was new and something different. They obviously filled a niche in the market and good for them. As far as piloting goes, plenty of d*cks flying all brands. For me, the ability to get in and out of smaller...

How much oil burn is too much?

The oil capacity on my IO520 is 12 quarts. I put in 10 and a pint of Camguard. I burn a quart about every 23-25 hours. If I put in 12 it winds up on the belly.

    Was I being unreasonable?

Not a lawyer, but I think you need to verify you are listed as a "member" of the LLC otherwise you technically have no ownership and no right to sell. If you are listed, read the agreement to see what the restrictions are to sell, if any. If you do ultimately sell, make sure the LLC updates the...

    Was I being unreasonable?

Exactly. What's the cost to fix a strut divided by 4? JFC, I'm sharing the airways with people like this.

    Was I being unreasonable?

What is the structure of your "club"? Are you formalized as in an LLC? Is there a lawyer reviewed partnership agreement? Does it spell out responsibilities of each member/owner? If not, you are exposed by the actions of the other members. If someone gets hurt, and the insurance doesn't respond...

    Was I being unreasonable?

This sounds like it's going to be ugly over the long term. As someone else posted, you are partnered with dicks. Also, how does an A&P sign off on an annual with a collapsed strut? Print out this thread and give it to them. That should bring more interesting responses.
