    Saratoga Drivers question.

Transition from a PA28 to PA32 is very simple. The biggest thing I noticed was I wasn't bumping shoulders with the person next to me. The extra width is VERY nice!! The transition from PA32 to PA28 is not as enjoyable

ANOTHER..... "Want to buy a plane thread"

Another vote for the PA32 lance/toga.

Buddy wants to buy an airplane any ideas?

My vote would be a PA32 Lance or Saratoga. Isn't there like 7 inches difference in cabin width between the PA32 and A36?

Rant #1022 Pilot Reports - Throw a guy a bone...

It would be awesome if I could file a pirep from the GTN750. It would already have the winds aloft information and OAT. I would just put in anything else that is pertinent.

I just made an account. I looked but couldn't find where to make a PIREP. Under which dropdown do you use?

Rant #1022 Pilot Reports - Throw a guy a bone...

I have had many problems filing PIREPs in the past A couple examples: 1) Field was reporting clear and 10sm vis but I didn't break out until minimums... Flight Service: "But the AWOS machine says clear" ... well i'm telling you its wrong.. The dude never filed it 2) Mountain Wave...

If ForeFlight could display the Jepp Charts....

I use Jepp plates with Garmin Pilot already. Garmin pilot is lightyears ahead of FF but that isn't the point of this thread. I use both gov charts and jepp charts to mix things up, so the answer to the question above is yes and no.

    gdl88

I've done a few dozen trips to the Bahamas with our GDL88 & GTX327. I can tell you we were able to see other traffic displayed on our GTN750. AFAIK, you wont need 1090ES in the bahamas and they dont have an ADSB mandate... correct me if i'm wrong.

    Alabama Crash claims 4

On the flip side of things, I've used Nexrad to avoid ATC re-routing that would have put me in a bad situation. I don't care about the inconvenience it puts on the airliners, I wont accept a route if i can see that in about 30 minutes when i get to that point it'll be in bad weather. Really...

Can we quickly compare AOPA's Membership to EAA's

As some others said above, I don't fly experimental but I joined EAA last year and dropped AOPA. I don't read the magazines anyway, I just feel like EAA has done more recently especially with avionics. Will plan on going to my local EAA chapter meeting next month as well.

    Lycoming IO-390 Question

Considering my IO-360 is coming up on overhaul, my thought was if there was an STC, i could spend a little extra for a little better climb performance. But like someone else said, it'd probably be better to step up to a bigger plane if i want more power. But it'll be a while before I do that, I...

    Lycoming IO-390 Question

The response I got back from Lycoming is there were no plans to make the IO-390 for the arrow "at this time". Dang... i was really hoping they would...

    TruTrak Vizion Making Headway!

I will definitely get this for my arrow if they make it available for the PA28! Can't wait to see what comes.

    Lycoming IO-390 Question

Personally I would like the option to upgrade the arrow to an IO-390. A lot of other aircraft have it as an STC so I'm not sure why the arrow wouldn't be a good candidate. I sent Lycoming an email so I hope to hear from them soon.

    Lycoming IO-390 Question

I read on the mooney forum it was 0.5gph more in cruise I was doing some more research and another mooney owner noted a 150fpm increase in climb and a 5 knot increase in speed. I found an STC for a Piper Super Cub IO-390 with MT Propeller, and they claim less vibrations. Considering you can...

    Lycoming IO-390 Question

Wish there was a way I could get an IO-550 in the arrow!

    Lycoming IO-390 Question

My understanding is the IO-390 is basically a IO-360 but with cylinders from the IO-580 and has "lycoming roller tappets". I was talking to someone at the airport today who said he had flown a Commander 112 with an IO-390 STC and he said the noticeable difference was in the climb, not so much...

    Lycoming IO-390 Question

I heard the Mooney M20 E,F,J, and Cessna 177RG received an STC for the IO-390 back in 2009. I keep hearing talk about an IO-390 STC being "proposed" for the Arrow... Does anyone know if this is true or just another myth? I'd like to see an IO-390 in my arrow since the engine is coming up on TBO...

    LOP

I have a IO-360. I can usually get the first cylinder to peak to around -46 degrees before it starts to lose power and EGTs start going down at that point which gets me closer to peak. I've been running -25 LOP lately. Is that acceptable? I'm concerned about running too close to peak because of...

Cabin heater that you'd leave on overnight

Does anyone leave a droplight in the cabin of their plane to keep the cabin and avionics from getting too cold?
