Paris attack.... how might we protect ourselves?

Or, we can stop the invasion in its tracks by turning away all Syrian refugees (90% of whom look in the pictures like young military-aged men) and stop issuing visas to anyone of Middle-eastern origin. We can revisit that decision in a decade or so.

Paris attack.... how might we protect ourselves?

What's sad about having a merit-based immigration system, where we let in people who work in specialized fields, invest in innovation, and otherwise help our country prosper? What's sad is opening our doors to non-skilled, non-working illegal immigrants who, right out of the box, are a drain...

Paris attack.... how might we protect ourselves?

What in the hell are you talking about? What "freedom" does a foreign national deserve to travel freely or relocate in the US if they so chose? Last I heard, we are a sovereign nation, with the right to let in whomever we wish, and exclude whomever we wish. You must have enjoyed the Dem...

Paris attack.... how might we protect ourselves?

You jumped the shark, Bob. Chip's point was that you can't "vet" these Syrian refugees. Therefore, we should close the door on these refugees. I would go further to say that we should stop all refugee visas, period. At least for the next decade - let the world instability sort itself out...

    We lost BartMC?????

Re: BartMC flew west. And then east back to his home field Was his last post on the day it was announced that the SZ was closing down? A few people made such statements, and I think some followed through with it.

    Remembering your first solo flight

My solo was about 11 years ago at KEQY in an OMF Symphony. It was awesome, but I was more nervous because my wife was there. But I think my first departure from the nest of the pattern to an airport within 25nm was the bigger thrill. I flew to Lancaster, SC, and on climb out the pilot-side...

    Approach procedures in a retract

Well, I've only had my IR for 5 years, and I'm not current, so it may well be JV flying. But doesn't it depend on the approach? Obviously I wouldn't slow down at the IAF on an RNAV approach, but what about these ILS and GPS approaches? Don't you slow it down on your outbound procedure turn so...
