Engine about to die, minutes of power left, what to do?

Maintain flight level and look for something closer while troubleshooting and preparing to ditch.

    SPOT Failure

Read some reviews on the devices they made. If it were me I'd go ResQ, Sat Phone and maybe a SPOT. Between the three of them I'd expect something to happen.

    BFR PIC?

Yes, I moved and don't own an airplane so I'm on the prowl for rentals. The review counts as a checkout, I may or may not rent from them but the option is there. I will definitely knock out the 3 landings during the review.

    BFR PIC?

Ah, so it's not a reg. Thank you, I've been wondering the source of this information for a couple weeks now. Thanks for your time guys.

    SPOT Failure

Years ago I considered one for paragliding. After reading reviews I changed my mind. There are an alarming number of reviews saying it failed them when they needed it most.

    BFR PIC?

Thanks for the responses. I know it's a stupid question. I was going to not log the time as PIC to be safe instead of sorry. That is the reg I am looking for. I'll keep looking, I remember reading or hearing of such a thing I just can't find it. I should have clarified, I don't need the BFR...

    BFR PIC?

I'm a PPL that hasn't flown in the preceding 90 days and my last flight review was one year ago. I moved, so I do not have access to an airplane to knock out three landings before my next flight which is a BFR/checkout ride with a DPE. I would not log this flight review as PIC time, correct?

    Something broke

Funny that the gusts are lower than the wind itself. Anyone else ever see this kind of thing reported? Neighboring airports showed 6-7 kt winds.

Anyone heard about turning LORAN back on in CONUS?

I've been wondering about it a lot, ever since I flagged a GPS jammer on Walmart's web site as illegal. Walmart took it down the same day and said thank you.

The Perfect Flight Bag. (Do I really need to put the parenthetical satire part?)

You can get around the USB battery pack free-energy block by plugging a power strip into itself, plug a charger into the strip, plug charger into USB battery charge port, and drop that in your flight bag, it should fit.

    Pilot bored

Next time I fly I'm going to try and draw an E. Looks like a fun maneuver.

    Cessna rolling through border patrol

When I pulled up the border patrol dude wanted to know what was so funny. The dash cam timezone is -1 and it was late. We were both nordo.

FAA says noise-cancelling headsets may be hazardous

I can't wait to read the response by the engineers that spent years designing aviation headsets lol. I used a sweep track, like the one below to test all of my headsets PNR and ANR capabilities. Turn the volume up and put the speakers close to you.

Good Tax News = Good Flying News

True. I probably should have read it.

Good Tax News = Good Flying News

There's always the ignore option, and let the MC deal with it. This isn't much different than the last guy that was making videos about stuff he learned yesterday. Nobody complained about him posting videos. Maybe you should make videos lol...

Cure for cancer; does anyone believe this?

The news site got you to share it though, that's all that really matters to them.

    Etiquette on sharing flight expenses

I love the "let's go to xyz in an airplane" conversations. The number of passengers, bags, destination, no allowance for weather or diversions allowed. Usually the first time in a small aircraft. All 6 of us can hop into your Cessna, fly 2500 miles in one afternoon, be on the ground at exactly...

    Picked My Headset
