    New to planes

And why would you care to register a dismembered (or never completed) aircraft??

    New to planes

??? How can it be registered if it is still in pieces? It never flew, it is obvious looking at the photo.

Rusty pilot looking for affordable way to get back into flying

And one year is a long break? I was out for 22 years, I wonder how would you call my break?? I am nearby - flying out of Livermore.

    Apollo 11

I was wondering about the same thing.

Do you have a real ID?

Nope, you misunderstood. The topic was what to use in lieu of Real ID, not how to obtain it.

Do you have a real ID?

Nope, I don't think so, instead of a 'real ID' you need a federally issued "acceptable" document.

    New to planes

He is probably a young, healthy guy, by "default" he won't have any problems with the FAA medical.

    Comments on this ?

We don't even know yet if the Ethiopian crash was related to the same problem.

    New to planes

You mean buying Q2 Quickie quickly? :) I know some people who bought airplanes before they even had their first flying lesson - some never completed the training for various reasons. I would slow down.

    Interesting RNAV Approaches?

A "generic" G1000 database certainly doesn't have RNP approaches, I have one home for my Garmin G1000 Pc Trainer and it isn't there.

Do you have a real ID?

Yes, I do, it's called US passport, surprisingly I found out small percentage of Americans have passports.

    Apollo 11

Yes, you are right, it was 296 deg/s, my mistake but what we see in the movie is multiple revolutions per sec. Yeah, this flag is so far I simply missed it. That they did not correctly depict the West Crater they overflew I consider it a major and unnecessary distraction in this movie, it didn't...

    Apollo 11

So I congratulate you, I watched the movie and knew about the flag controversy and was attentively watching the sequence and did not see the flag, must have gone by real fast. But my beef with the movie is not about this flag but with other stuff - grossly overdone vibrations in cockpits...

    Interesting RNAV Approaches?

I bet it will not be in your club’s AATD, only selected airlines can fly given RNP approaches. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

    Interesting RNAV Approaches?

Don't know what's your idea of an "interesting" approach but I find RNAV(GPS) Rwy 10 at KUDD interesting just because of scenery and you can certainly try it in your sim.

    Foreflight is now Boeing

Clearly opinions vary, I tried them all and IMHO nothing has this built in 'elegance' that FF provides. I only use it as an EFB, I don't use it for in-flight navigation, with G1000 I don't need an Ipad based navigation. I can swallow even a 30% price increase but I don't think it will happen, I...

    Where is the MAP?

Where is the Missed Approach Holding Point?? Talking about being surprised by a plate.. at some point I found out there was no MAHP for RNAV approach at my home airport. Instead there is only Missed Approach Fix. Strangely, ILS for the same runway does have MAHP...

    Equipment Codes non WAAS GPS

My Cirrus is WAAS and I still use /G, there is nothing else, I figure controllers care less if I am WAAS or not, the distinction WAAS or not means little to them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

PIREP for Bay & LA areas

I live in the Bay Area, would never pick KSQL - short runway, easy to violate airspace (class B is right above you), congested, cramped. I am partial to KHWD with its superior real estate, better approaches, easier airspace. BART is nearby.

    Apollo 11

It was good but this IMAX documentary is even better. What is for example totally missing in the Apollo 13 movie is the recreation of extreme high velocity of the exhaust escaping sideways through the trenches and it is probably the most spectacular 2 seconds of this launch sequence. Sent...
