    Replacing truck, need opinions

Renewable diesel only has a faint smell that isn't unpleasant. Not the same as biodiesel.

    Replacing truck, need opinions

That's kind of where I'm at now, it feels like a 2 year old truck costs what a new truck should cost.

    Replacing truck, need opinions

I always ran renewable diesel, so it had little smell and ran very clean.

    Replacing truck, need opinions

I guess the silver lining here is after they write me a check, even including financing costs, my truck only cost me about $200/month, including sales tax, maintenance/tires, since it depreciated so little in just over 4 years.

    Replacing truck, need opinions

Ok folks, I'm going to the braintrust to help me think this through. My truck, 2019 Chevy Colorado, diesel, long bed, 4x4 Z71, got in an accident a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, the frame got bent a bit, and the insurance company is talking about totalling it, though it is a really marginal...

    Silly, contrived scenario

This is one of my regular CFI's favorite loopholes to bring up.

    Employee assistance program referral

So, the ones who didn't "just get over it" don't deserve assistance? Not everyone is wired the same way. PTSD is a range of conditions, like heart disease. You can have "just a little" or "a lot".

    Does anyone remember...

The key with DDG is the results of the search and associated ads are limited to just that search, they don't end up permeating everything else you see and do on the internet. i.e., it is far less creepy.

That is one dumb, lucky b@st@rd.

Airport-required liability insurance for hangar owners

It isn't hard to get, but be clear on whether they are requiring "named insured" or "additional insured". It is usually "Additionally insured", and that is much preferred for your benefit. "Lessor as a beneficiary" is nebulous in this regard. Additionally insured means that they receive benefits...

Gallbladder removal 25 years ago -- need to report?

If you're not sure if you reported it or not, it won't hurt to report it again. "Gallbladder removed (or whatever the medical term for that is), Month/Year, full recovery, no complications". It's a nothing burger. If you still have the letter from the doc, bring it with, but after this much...

Lost a cowl flap on a 182. Tips to prevent this in the future?

I think that is only for the oldest 182 models, not sure exactly which. Fixed cowl flaps would definitely drop 2-3 knots of airspeed, at least.

Lost a cowl flap on a 182. Tips to prevent this in the future?

Seems like not a single annual goes by on our plane where we aren't doing something to repair the RH cowl flap attachments. Usually just a loose rivet, this year it will be the full piano hinge, which is the second time we've done that in 18 years of ownership. Pretty sure we haven't yet hit the...

App-based, on-demand Part 135 operation launches at KVUO

I think the 600 vs. 1000 mi thing is just listing the maximum range they would schedule for the plane.

    Listed Price vs Offer

I'd strongly recommended some handrails for those bathtub steps.

Looking for Social Activities for Club

Think of it this way. At least half haven't flown in a year. 25% fly ~30 hrs/yr (so that is 750 hrs over 4 planes). The other 25% fly 50-70 hrs/year (1,500 hrs), so you're at 2,250 hrs per year for 4 planes, so roughly 500 hrs/plane/year. And I bet it doesn't average this high (less for the RG)...

    Listed Price vs Offer

Unless you're in a hurry, why rush? If they really want the house, they'll pony up even more before the open house. If you're in a desirable area with low inventory, the next offer is just around the corner. It's up to your agent to advise you if they think you won't do better than the offer on...
