Link for the 2016 Senate FAA Reauthorization Bill?

Thanks for the summary of the bill FlySince9. But I am looking to see if I could find the actual text of the bill itself, not what a news article reported about the bill. In other words I am looking for the primary source, not secondary sources. I found the bill online on Congress.gov website...

Link for the 2016 Senate FAA Reauthorization Bill?

Hey guys. Recently the Senate came up with their own version of the FAA Reauthorization Bill. I tried looking for the bill itself online but I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone have a link to view the contents of the bill by any chance or has the contents of the bill not have been released...

    "Landing Fee"

Yes, the landing fee at KCDW is charged by the county. We charge each landing including touch & goes. We do not charge landing fees for aircraft based at the airport, aircraft owned by the government, state police aircraft, military aircraft, and charity flights (which includes animal rescue...

The AIRR Act - FAA Reauth that includes GA and Medical Reform

Seems that the House AIRR bill is shelved. And the Senate is going to work on their own version of the FAA Reauthorization Bill. Do you think the Senate's version for medical reform would include the amended and more restrictive PBOR2 medical reform language in their version of the bill rather...

Do you vet a pilot before you let him take you for a flight?

It's okay Brad. Yes, I would be nervous if I took a flight with someone whom I never flew with before. I guess I could ask him more about what kind of flying he does, experiences, etc in a casual conversation the next time I see him. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Do you vet a pilot before you let him take you for a flight?

Yeah, like I said before, I never thought about asking a pilot what his qualifications or experiences are, but I think it probably is a good idea to ask. But I always thought it would be rude to ask a pilot their qualifications for the purpose of seeing if I think they are a safe pilot or not...

Do you vet a pilot before you let him take you for a flight?

Thanks for the replies everyone. It seems that most of these responses are a pilot taking another pilot for a ride. I actually wanted to ask should a non-pilot or student pilot evaluate a licensed pilot before going up for a flight. Do non-pilots or student pilots have the knowledge to know...

Do you vet a pilot before you let him take you for a flight?

Thanks for the responses so far everyone. Brad, to be honest, I never heard of anyone vetting a pilot about their skills or experiences except if they are evaluating a CFI. I always thought you just climb in and go if you think you could trust him/her with your life and you know them well enough.

Do you vet a pilot before you let him take you for a flight?

A pilot at the airport asked me if I wanted to go with him for a flight someday. I said I would love to. Who knows, maybe this would light up a spark in me to finish my flight training one day. I have known him for a while now and he seems like a nice guy. I never flown with a GA pilot...

Salary Comparison: Airport Operations vs. Flight Dispatcher

Hey guys. For comparison, which aviation career has a higher starting salary? Airport Operations or Flight Dispatcher? And which aviation career would have a higher top salary (as you progress through your career)? A friend of mine who is a current aviation student in my alma mater college...

    What about Autism?

I was also diagnosed somewhere on the autism spectrum back in high school I believe. Before that I had ADHD at a young age. I currently take medication which would preclude me from getting even a 3rd class medical. But even if I never taken medication and just had the autism diagnosis come...

    H.R. 4441 User Fee Question

Hey guys. I got a quick question about user fees in the latest FAA Reauthorization Bill. I know that AOPA and most of you have a zero tolerance policy towards imposing user fees on anyone in GA even when it won't likely affect you guys. But I know you guys feared that once user fees are in...

    Happy Unemployment Day

I think I want to make another point to you overdrive. In my opinion, I think that it is very important where you find a work environment where you would be able to fit in with the people you work with. Customers, coworkers, supervisors, and bosses. Also important in my opinion is a nurturing...

    Happy Unemployment Day

Overdrive, I'm sorry this happened to you! It sounds like the people who you worked with are not the right fit for you. I would never want to work in a toxic work environment like that. I hope you are doing okay.

Can you use your pilot certificate as a government-issued ID...?

Wait, I'm a little confused here. Is there a picture for the person on the pilot certificate? I always thought that pilot certificates don't have a picture of the person on the pilot certificate but was under a proposed rule making or something.

Can you use your pilot certificate as a government-issued ID...?

I heard there was a proposal a while back where I think the FAA or TSA wants a photo ID on pilot certificates. I'm not sure if they are still going to do that but if it does happen someday, would it be possible you could use your pilot certificate as a government-issued ID in lieu of a state...

    Drone Airport Notification

Just wondering, but what would happen if you want to fly your drone when you are in the 5-mile radius of two or more airports? Do you have to contact all the airports that is within that airspace or just only one of the airports, and they will let other airports know?
