    IFR Clearences

No worries. That is what I am doing as well. :) To me this is not a conversation about if there are CD freq. at Class D's. It is about if that it "Typical" or not. Go ahead and do that research. I am only stating from my experience so far. Keep in mind, I only have about 400...

    IFR Clearences

And that makes it "Typical" of Class D's? I think the kicker is when the class D is inside/bordering a Class B or C airspace. Still not looking worthy of my initial post being discredited.

    IFR Clearences

I am just asking where this would be normal? It is not "Typical" for Class D's in my experience so far. Thinking back,There is one Class D I do contact CD from. That is at KTEB - Teterboro NJ. Pretty much everywhere else, I have not had any issues simply contacting Ground freq. for my IFR...

Where? I have been to most of those Class D airports down there?

    IFR Clearences

Where do you fly that you see this regularly? I cant even think of a time I contacted CD from a Class D when the tower was open. I have called CD when the tower was closed before after hours. Far from typical for me.

    IFR Clearences

Typically.. Class D - Contact Ground Class C - Contact Clearance Delivery Class B - Contact Clearance Delivery Uncontrolled - Depends.. sometimes you can reach a freq. from the ground. or Call them directly on the phone. or call the 1800#. or if its VFR, take off and pick it up in the air.

I dont even know what to say..

Sure, maybe it would be fun, but the whole video just seems foolish to me. His daughter is scared, he commands her to fly the airplane when she obviously does not want too, he is supposedly VFR but skimming the cloud tops and bottoms. I am interested though. Is this an an airspace where simply...

    Auto Pilot

The Cirrus is actually kind of a pain in the @ss to keep in trim. I mostly fly to get somewhere and flying IFR, so most of my flying lately has been on the autopilot, but if I am VFR, I am almost 100% off the autopilot. I like to carve through the sky like a snowboarder if I am not on an IFR...

    Another nail in the coffin....

Why? What are the concerns they have that this will resolve? Who checks licenses anyhow? Outside of my checkrides, I have only been asked 1 time to see my pilots license and that was flying back from outside of the country last year by customs.

    1.3 billion Powerball next Wednesday

Unless me or someone if my family wins (fingers crossed), I want to see a reality show on the daily life of the winner(s). (yes, totally hypocritical). It would be interesting to see how their lives change and what they do with all that money. I'm sure it would be a huge hit for a network as well.

I got to fly a Mirage!

I always liked the Mirage. I don't think they will fit in a normal T-hangar which is a bummer. From what I hear, they are not the most reliable airplane either, but I would own one in a heartbeat if it had a chute. (are you listening Piper?). I'd love to have a pressurized cabin. Now the...

A real pilot would have pulled his chute, but good job anyhow. :)

DRONES UAV'S - Any chance they could spark more interest in general aviation?

Good question. I had to search on that. I don't play those games, but apparently those games have been targeted for recruitment efforts successfully for years.

DRONES UAV'S - Any chance they could spark more interest in general aviation?

I know my criticism has been pretty tough on the whole Drone thing, but after getting one of these things and messing around with it (DJI Phantom 3), I wonder if they might actually bring new life into general aviation. There is only so much that kids can do with these things, I would think they...
