    Update 4-12

Well, it has ben a week of bad times with some good mixed in. The last revenge of the radiation has struck. My esophagus has rebelled completely. Either scar tissue build up, ulcers, or just some kind of blockage. Nearly constant discomfort at some level near pain. We have tried one medicine for...

    Update 4-5

Adam, That is our intent, to get the Mouse into the hands of a couple that will use it for the purpose it was built for; Flying. We got every penny of our investment back in pure enjoyment, and didn't wish to see it sit and rot while we tried to get me a new medical. Time to get it back in the...

    Update 4-5

I skipped this update last week for two reasons; first, I was still on hiatus from chemo, so there was nothing to report. I was nearly over the effects of the radiation and slowly beginning to gain strength. I have even gained back a couple of pounds. However, I started round two of the chemo...

    3 22 Update

Not much new this week. Last week's chemo is still kicking butt, but is almost petered out. We have a very interested nibble on the Mouse from a local couple just getting into flying. Just what we wanted. They'll be looking at it next week. Cross your fingers!

    The Mouse is for sale.

It wasn't a privilege, it was an honor. The living of a lifelong dream. I am proud to have done what we did and made so many friends along the way. I salute all of you who helped us in so many ways. And continue to help with your prayers and support.

    The Mouse is for sale.

It has been down since December. The host is TU.
  7. The Old Man

    The Mouse is for sale.

To those of you here who have offered ways to help us keep the mouse, thank you. Sandra and I have discussed it at great length the last month. She maintains that it is ultimately my decision, but that is her yielding to my pragmatism instead of her emotions. The bottom line is this, I always...

    Friday 3/15

Good enough, but that will be awful hard on the scenery. Can you see a 71 year old emciated ill man buying an xbox when he doesn't know anything about video gaming since Pong?

    Friday 3/15

Loren, the website has been down since at least December. I think from the signs, it has been abandoned by the host. Steingar, as shaky as my hands are right now, xbox would be out of the question. Playing solitaire is bad enough.

    Friday 3/15

So, what is new this week? Finished the last of this round of chemo yesterday. Just waiting for the effects to kick in Saturday/Sunday and last into next week. Follow up appointment with the oncologist week after next week, so should be a quiet week.Quiet, hell, I'm bored out of my skull...

    And then this..

GARY, i couldn't have been just us. Every patient we met in the waiting room (very short times, they did stay on schedule without making you feel like cattle.) seemed happy sand plesant. The staff attitude was contagious.

    And then this..

Hey, trhis is Texas. Possibly the last bastion of common sense. (and common courtesy. When you appreciaate some service, you reward it)
  13. The Old Man

    And then this..

And now for something completely different! Yesterday, Sandra and I took a plate of cookies (homemade of course) and this letter (In Word with nice formatting and fonts) to my final appointment for radiation. Thank You! For being the nicest group of health care professionals I have ever...

    Friday update...

I am staggering on, Adam. Beleive me, I feel the strenght and support of all of you and am depending on it. Most of the tears I've shed are tears of joy knowing I am not alone.

    Friday update...

Yeah, Spike. Me and Ensure are on a first name basis. It is just that is is a losing battle (metabolically) from that first shot of radiation or chemo until at least 2 weeks after the last of it.

    Friday update...

Here is some data and some of my history: Those of you who have met me would have trouble recognizing what is left. My weight had been 168+/-2 since sometime around 1970. Today it is 143. Why do we lose so much weight so fast? Simply put, it is the changing demands on your metabolism. The...

    Why I am doing this...

Why am I writing all of this? The encourgaement and interest shown by my friends on both boards gets very nicely to the reason I decided to do it. Too many times, on both boards, we see a thread started which garners the usual amount of concern and prayers, but after several days, peters out...
  19. The Old Man

    A story about attitude.

Gary, If I ever didn't behave like a southern gentleman, my dad would rise from his grave and put a bump on my head so tall I'd need a step ladder to reach it.
  20. The Old Man

    A story about attitude.

Spike, I'll never live up to your praise, but keep it up. I can't tell you how much I appreciated the phone call last week. I remember the adventure into slow flight a little different, but I like your version and we have the picture to prove it. To the rest of you, I am as close to "cabin...
