Advice For Leveling Plane To Set Slip/Skid Indicator

Do this leveling inside a closed hangar, not outside, winds can effect the leveling. Find a level place on the plane like the left and right seat rails, both window sills side to side, or the top of the cabin on the wing center section. If you do this and get it level, it doesn't matter if the...

    Previous owner relationship

My Champ has a long history of owners. I've met one who owned it in the 60's, and got to fly with him in it, e-mailed or talked with a couple more. The guy I bought it from is now a woman, full bore all the way.

Ignition harness for a vintage Taylorcraft

Assuming it's a Continental A-65-8, you still need to know what mags you have if you want to stay with the same kind of harness. If... it's an unshielded mags and harness, you can convert to a shielded one with different mags, harness and plugs. Example, my Champ has Eisemann mags and an...

Would you VFR night fly with these simple instruments?

In the right kind of night VFR, and in a semi populated area, yes I would fly it at night. Meaning that I myself would fly that 170, you may be a different story. Remember, with what you've got in that 170, it's just needle ball and airspeed, not ideal for IFR. That's a nice looking VFR fun plane.

    Whatever happened to the AC-114?

The ICAO code AC-11 includes all of the different models of the Rockwell Commander, the manufacture uses it's own individual designations for the different models. Two prototypes of the 111 model were produced and were fixed gear with 180 HP. Although I've never sat in one, it would be fun to...

If I may ask, where did you do your training and flying at ANE? I started training at Northland Aviation back in 1970, finished at Arrowhead Airways and worked there too.
