    State Route #131

If you're coming back from Port Clyde, Maine, a sure thing if you've been out to Monhegan Island, you'll travel this road. Having passed through Tenants Harbor you'd be traveling to Thomaston to get to U.S. Route #1. The Dragon Cement Company plant's towers can be seen at upper left. Town of...

    Nicest FBO you've been to

I was surprised that when I was ready to post an FBO, when I opened the thread my choice was the first one listed: Flagstaff. Everything that was referenced is true. I haven't been there since 2005 but when I arrived the red carpet had been rolled out to the plane. Well, it wasn't for me; my...

    What Happened to Early Spring?

The truck handles much better with some weight in the back. The ramps' owner's manual advises, "Do not operate engine while loading/offloading machinery." Duh! As though one is going to push a snow blower or riding lawn tractor up the ramps? HR

    What Happened to Early Spring?

Unusual for Maine, Most of December I spent raking the leaves left over from November, to be completed in April/May. I could have mowed the lawn on Christmas Day. Same scenario occurred during January; and the latest to never have been skiing. February changed all the above, except still to go...

    Maybe, My Favorite

I can't count the number of times, from 10 years old, I soloed or was part of a duo, trio, or quartet in that church which is almost as old as the State of Maine. How many years I stood, every Sunday, just below the peak of the roof and pulled the rope which tolled the bell in the steeple is but...

    GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!

Truly, it was a hard to stomach loss for us here in the northeast. Brady just doesn't get protected like Manning's guys watch out for him. Afterthought: Having watched the Panthers/Cardinals game, I wonder if Cam Newton's club will eat the Broncos and spit them out. It should be a terrific SB. HR

Ever Put 100LL in Your Car?

Yes, and there were those who were thinking, "What's that idiot doing in the middle of the Beechwood Street intersection, taking pictures?" (Waiting for the the light to change so as to get unobstructed view of the Anderson Block and my car.) HR

Ever Put 100LL in Your Car?

When it was cheaper I'd run about every third tank-up in my Austin Healey. The last tank-up of the fall season would get a fill, two days before the first snow storm, and the Healey would go into my hangar until late April or early May. HR
