Totally 100% agree on the non-TSO install. However, the FAA has already made it clear that VFR GPS can be minor alteration, and IFR GPS generally is a major.

What's your approval method here? Can't use the STC without Garmin's permission, so you're starting from scratch on approved data. Maybe it's not that difficult, I honestly don't know.

That's definitely unacceptable. Every EV I've rented (Admittedly all Teslas) were >85% when I picked them up. The one time I got one that was lower, I went back to the counter and traded so they could recharge it on-site for somebody else.

This is a known issue (Feature?). Garmin Pilot uses a different data format than Foreflight (Yay proprietary interfaces). The Stratus switches based on which one is needed/requested, but will not output both formats.

The GLO does both GLONASS and GPS, as do many of the other devices on the market at this point.

Just to clarify, there is no TSO version of the G5 (or G3X, or Dynon's HDX). They have an STC without a TSO.

If you want to transmit or receive on the 430W, you're going to need an audio panel. The GTR 200 is never going to connect your mic/audio lines to the GNS's radio (COM or NAV). You can't splice your headset lines to solve this, you need an audio panel.

The install manual is pretty clear that you can get TIS data from a GTX 330 to the GTN. How do you have each of them configured?

The whole point of this is that the airplane will provide it's own "cell tower". Airplane connects to the network via whatever system (Satcom, Ka/Ku, other) and then provides that to customers via 4G, LTE, 5G, whatever. Some of the middle east airlines already provide this service (For a fee)...

Inreach provides GPS data in a proprietary (non-standard) format, which is why it works with Garmin Pilot but not Flightaware or others.

That's was my thought as well. Wouldn't have been a fun departure out of here. I got lucky and got tucked away in a hangar
