More information on Beebo Russell, who stole the Q400

Agreed... How many thousands more just like him are out there? People in love with aviation, who want to stay close to it, yet for one reason or another, (money, life intrudes, priorities, etc.) just can't put it together to fly themselves. ( I understand this, I was one of them for a long...

    Big people and LSA

I am 6ft, 220 and fit in my Cruiser just fine. As mentioned above, the older cruisers have a higher useful than the newer ones, and it does make a difference. Without a chute, the useful is 523 ( Mine does have the chute, so 485 U) Min takeoff fuel is ten gallons, the lowest level that can be...

    Gaston’s 2021?

Had the opportunity to stop at the Lake Barclay Resort last weekend about 20-ish miles southeast of Kentucky Dam. Nice resort, good food, and they will pick you up at the state park airport. Definitely on our list for a weekend this fall. Possibility?

Tragic Utah Crash Involving a “1966 Cessna Piper 28-21490”

Looks like she was crossing a ridge with two mountains at 10,300, and another at 11,000, near Johnson Pass at 6400. The wilderness area mentioned is on the western side. No idea what the DA was at the time, but someone will find it. Been an awful lot of these already this summer.

Tragic Utah Crash Involving a “1966 Cessna Piper 28-21490”

DA’s have been insanely high in the west for the past several days. There have been more than a few accidents this week.

    Cite your tallest cloud

There was a series of storm fronts that stretched from Canada to the Gulf some years ago, September 2000, I think. One of those lines was 50-70k for hundreds of miles. We were routing our aircraft hundreds of miles around the stuff. One EMB-145 arrived with only 20-some on board, they had left...

Tragic Utah Crash Involving a “1966 Cessna Piper 28-21490”

The circumstances of the crash are truly tragic, to be sure. The Female pilot was very experienced, and sounds like a hell of a person to have known. This post is not about that. We make memes about how the media describes these things, but here it is, in real life, from the article: “Federal...

Citation Down Into Percy Priest Lake After Takeoff From Syrna MQY

Lol... You’re kidding, right? It took almost two years for them to get my registration correct. And that was just done a few months ago.

Famous pilots you have met.......I'll start out...

I have met many famous pilots over the years, including several on the above list. Everyone’s definition of “Famous”, can be different though. Is it because of an achievement that they are famous, or household names, etc? I have met several celebrities, some aircraft engineers/designers...

Thanks for that. You can hear some kind of alarm going off when he responds to Nash approach. Seconds later, he is gone.

Citation Down Into Percy Priest Lake After Takeoff From Syrna MQY

Crash was just after 11am. Cessna Citation registered to a local Media Production Company owned by Gwen Shamblin, weight-loss instructor to the Stars, and a quasi media personality herself. Was bound for Hilton Head. Weather here is cool, gusty, and low ceilings today. Local TV 5 has a live...

    2021 Airventure Poll

Likewise.... Renting an RV turned out to cost almost the same, given insane car rental and hotels trying to make up a year’s losses over just one week. See ya’all in Scholler!

Love to go, but the timing has just sucked, something always comes up. (usually work-related). And, if forced to make choices, I'd rather see you guys at Oshkosh.

Massachusetts Dems Propose $1,000 Per Landing "Climate Impact Fee" On All Private Planes

They want to charge a $1,000 fee for every landing of private, corporate or charter aircraft in the state, that operates at a public airport. After all, only rich people own airplanes, right? The Fee will NOT apply to public aircraft, scheduled commercial passenger, freight or cargo aircraft...
