Platform thankfully, everytime I have to get on the boats I cant take it for more than an hour. I always have to get moved by the crane to the boat when its high seas and rain. I get in the galley, no windows and the smell of food and desiel exhaust with the waves makes me want to throw up...

I think I’ve decided that on my local site seeing trips around the lake that if I had an emergency, I’d ditch in the lake near shore over landing in a neighborhood or Smashing into the pine tree forest.

I know but cloudahoy is just a much more powerful and fun tool to use to look at flights.

Generally most planes already have a redundant dual radio stack in them. I do carry a handheld backup aviation radio in my flight bag. But honestly even having a cellphone handy is good enough. I know of several who lost power to their radios and just called tower and approach on their cellphones.

Theres literally a guy who wasted hundreds of dollars on a ticket to bring a level onto a plane to "prove" Airplanes never drop their nose to compensate for the curvature of the earth :rofl:

I tell people all the time flying is WAY harder in games. I think I can probably land without crashing 6/10 times and I think that’s pretty good but then again I’m flying with WASD

On my checkride my examiner asked me how I would contact the tower if I lost coms, I gave the safe answer but he said just try and call them on your phone. He's done it before he said. I always keep my phone on, I have the iPhone finder app and my family can see where I am when I'm flying...
