All three Las Vegas airports will charge a $3,000 landing fee during F1 races

Yeah - no real problem here - these are private companies. KHND‘s FBO is run for the County. No excuse for a 3k fee.

All three Las Vegas airports will charge a $3,000 landing fee during F1 races

    The issue isn’t the 3k for Gulfstream’s. It’s for the 3k for a 1962 C150. Ridiculous. BTW - I have a GS G280 and I can promise you it’s not going to be dropping in over F1.

Without upsetting the Mooney folks lol maybe a turbo arrow 3 or 4? For me personally, arrows, moneys etc just too cramped tho for more than a 3 hours a leg.

All three Las Vegas airports will charge a $3,000 landing fee during F1 races

Yes, I am based at HND and can corroborate that. The new jet ramp that was built housed the NBAA-BACE exhibits. There was plenty of space elsewhere (transient piston parking) and the south ramp, where I am tied down was as usual only about 1/2 full.

All three Las Vegas airports will charge a $3,000 landing fee during F1 races

Yes. I have an unoccupied tie down at the South Ramp and that is what I was told. Anyone other than me using it gets to pay 3k

    AOPA VREF

My experience of Vref is that it is generally 5-10% under the current market. I have bought and sold 2 airplanes in the last year, one for 109k and another for 210k and found this to be accurate. It may be different for planes greater than 250k but I don' t know.

    I’m calling the peak

I don’t think we’re at the peak. I just listed my plane and it sold within 24 hours.

Burning Man 2000 flights last year

Burning man has lost any meaning whatsoever when a bunch of people fly-in in their million dollar + planes.

    How often do you fly?

I’ve flown 130 hours in the last 8 months. Wold have been more but the heat wave in Las Vegas made it too uncomfortable for a few weeks. I’ll probably make about 200 hours this year. A few business trips, lots of Pilots ‘n Paws, some travel to see family in N Cal and plenty of $100 burgers.

Stall base to final.. question on the pattern

Base/Final stalls are because people will pitch up in an attempt to slow down or make a tighter turn. You need to nose down on base/final turn. It can seem counterintuitive of course, because you’re close to the ground but that’s the way to do it.

Complex/HP insurance for low time private pilot

T-Bird, Essentially you’re asking to get insurance on a complex, high performance aircraft, of a type you have absolutely no experience in. It’s akin to a 16 year old driver who has been driving for 6 months asking an insurance Company to insure him for a McClaren. Comanches are fast and can...

    Area 760 as MFD

Unfortunately I was solo and the 660 is in front of the right seat ainIncouldnt really try as many features out as I wanted. As to the two step FP back and forth, that’s how it is using GP on an...
