For Sale Cleaning Out the Parts Box

I tend to accumulate "stuff"! Hate throwing out something that still works, so maybe these items can be of some use to someone. Price includes shipping in the US via USPS. Shoot me a PM if you want more info or better pictures. Flightcom II GX intercom and SR-4 Extension. Removed this from...

140s and Luscombes - The Hidden Gem of the Market?

Long time no see! Welcome back! All the above is well and good, glad you are enjoying it. My question would be how you tolerate an airplane that doesn't have an airstair?? ;)

    Learning to Weld

Maybe take the welding course over at MontCo Tech? https://www.nmtcc.org/cms/lib/PA01931220/Centricity/Domain/63/welding.pdf Always thought it would be fun to learn.

Flying to Oracoke at Outer Banks?

In Ocracoke now, this mornings pic of the harbor attached. Stayed at a number of places, the Anchorage is a basic no-frills place, the 3rd and 4th floors have the best views and are a tad quieter. The Ocracoke Harbor Inn is more upscale and more $$. Blackbeard’s isn’t bad , but no view of...

Wondering how many are going to vote by absentee ballot

:D Pretty sure I'm still alive! :D In our case, we did request the "mail-in" ballot on the PA Dept. of State website. The request does need to be validated with the county voter roll.

Wondering how many are going to vote by absentee ballot

Did vote by mail in the last primary for the first time. Efficient and painless. Our county was well organized with (IMHO) good security. Used the official drop box. Received notification that my ballot was received and validated. More than willing to use the same method for the general...

    1969 Cherokee 140 cruise speed??

Sounds about right. My ‘67 140 with the 160hp engine, wheel pants, gap seals and vortex generators will see a consistent 105kts at 2450 RPM down low (2500msl), bit faster with cold temperatures, bit slower if it’s hot. Higher up, say, 5000-6000msl at 2500-2550RPM I’ll see 110-115kts, again...

The End of an Era - Shutting Down Cloud Nine

Ted - you done good! Saved a bunch of dogs, gained a ton of experience and had adventures most of us can only dream of. As you said, sometimes things (no matter how good) just have to end. Hope it all works out in the end! :D Assume this means the previously undisclosed corporate...

    Piper Cherokee 140 exhaust question

Yes, that is the"short stack". I agree that the PowerFlow is better designed, better material of construction and, in my mind, a safer system. Never liked the chintzy carb heat muff and the "beer can material" muffler. Not noticed that the lower cowling is all that much more difficult to remove.

    Thinking about a Bus/RV

Well... in the race of "he who has the most toys wins" - you are the leading contender!! Enjoy! Could never convince the wife to tour in one of those, although I'd give it a try.

    Know anyone with Coronavirus?

Ahhh – the Darwinian approach to epidemic control. I would tend to agree with your first statement, IF the situation was that your actions ONLY affected your own health. That being said, the evidence is clear that an individual’s actions can indeed affect the health of others. Short of a...

    Cherokee fuel sump blocked?

Mud dauber or other nefarious insect may have decided that's a nice place for a home. Happens on occasion. Try cleaning it out with a stiff wire and a blast of compressed air. If that doesn't work, time to remove the whole assembly and see if the obstruction is in the tank or the sump valve...

    magic drugs against covid-19?

Good article, thanks for posting it. There is also a Frontline show (https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/film/coronavirus-pandemic/) that I thought was interesting. The show concentrates on the Seattle efforts.

    Did you catch it ?

When the the American public has the confidence to venture out and freely associate with others. Who knows when that may be. Any further explanation, would probably launch this into a locked thread.

[NA]waterwell submersibles - repair or trash?

I'm sure a VFD system would work just fine for you if properly installed. That being said, I doubt you would see any increased reliability or any long term cost savings by doing so. The VFD systems shine in applications where flow is constant, but volume varies. I don't have definitive data...

:D Ahh Yes - can't beat the bouquet and tangy taste of iron and sulfur in your drinking water! :D
