Vibrating Load Meter..after installing new battery

Have had this issue a few times as well ('67 PA28-140). Lots of good trouble shooting advice above. In my case, one time it was a bad voltage regulator. All the other times it was a loose/corroded connection somewhere in the circuit. Best I can tell you is to start by checking, cleaning and...

    Katie’s at CGE closing

That is sad. Was always a nice place for breakfast/lunch. Maybe someone will restart the restaurant.

    Mid-Atlantic PoA lunch

Weather not being cooperative. Not bad down your way, but 1000-1500’ ceilings up my neck of the woods at time of departure. Bit low for my comfort level. Bummer, perhaps another time.

    Mid-Atlantic PoA lunch

That’s possible, will know in about two hours. The Cherokee needs some exercise.

Absolutely sucks loosing a fur baby

That does hurt! Sorry to hear the news. Im sure y'all will bounce back, but it is difficult. It is amazing how much joy and happiness a pet can bring into your life.

    Where is everyone?

I'm in SE PA. Took the Cherokee out for some exercise this morning. Although I wouldn't say it was crazy busy, fair amount on traffic both on the airport and in the sky. 100LL at $7.5/gal. - OUCH!!

    KHZL fly-in on 5/21/22

Dang! Would have liked to have flown up and checked out CAVU. Unfortunately, we are away that weekend. Hope the fly-in goes well.

Well, that's gonna be life changing, right?

Well Ed, your post(s) certainly put a smile on my face this morning! Whether you are soon to be betrothed, or your vivid imagination set up an elaborate April Fools scenario - more power to you! You certainly have the intelligence and capacity to do both. Since I have no idea which path is...

Masters of the Air mini-series on Apple+

Excellent book! We will see how well they adapt it to a movie. Do remember vividly (from the book) how the initial losses were appalling and the damage done was less than anticipated.

Name a book nearly everyone loves that you do not...

Rain pooling in back of cabin

Leaks on a Cherokee can be a real PITA to find. I would get some pooling of water behind the co-pilot seat. Didn't happen all the time and never did find the source of the leak. What finally worked was to tie the plane down "nose up". Pushed the stabilator down to get the front strut...

Until Blanton's comes back, may I suggest...

Interesting you should mention that.... Of all the bourbons I've tried, was not impressed by Angel's Envy. Seemed a bit watered down and a bit harsh, with an odd aftertaste. Woodford's is my main go-to, but there are so many others that are enjoyable!

    COVID Vaccine Booster

No real reaction to the first two shots (Moderna), bit of a sore arm. The third resulted in a noticeable sore arm, general body ache and the feeling my voltage was turned down by half. Good day to be a slug and catch up on some trash TV I wanted to see. All gone by the next day.

How About Flying To Block Island?

Hi Neal! Good of you to post, always looking for aviation friendly places to visit. Haven't been to Block Island, but it has been on the list. Couple of questions: What is your policy on cancellations due to weather? For getting around town, would you have a recommendation for car rentals...

Which radio - Garmin GTR 225 or Icom A-220

Installed one last fall as a replacement for a KX-175b. Lost the glide slope but I'm VFR only, so not an issue. Very happy with the unit. I'm also hardwired to an Aera, see comments from c177tx above. Very good display, reminds me of a Kindle paperwhite display. Visible from a pretty wide...

    ‘69 Cherokee 140B: flap use

For landing, full flaps 95% of the time. If there is a really nasty crosswind, might use two notches, but that’s rare. For take-off, no flaps, unless I’m doing a short/soft field.

    Really about flight following #2

Hmmm.... can't say I've ever been able to talk to RDG tower without them asking me to contact the phantom RDG approach first.
