So how do I get this cheeseburger everyone talks about?...

    Onion rings for me please

    Almost a student pilot again….

My 182 has a 1090# useful load. Full fuel leaves 616# and after the dogs that leaves 391 for you, the wife, and baggage. I'll leave it to others to talk about a 182 near gross at high DA as I don't have much time in in yet to say much.

    182 Transition

I took my first flight, as owner, in the plane with a local instructor. Had a spongy R toebrake and the GNC355 powered off. But, I couldn't have been more elated. It was a great day for flying. One thing I noticed was how easy it was to trim the plane. I generally fight the trim a bit in the...

We still have the ashtrays, but the smoking section is now through the door and to the left.

No, found on TAP and used a fairly local mechanic not associated with the seller.

Cowl flaps are easy on this one, (INOP) Horsham STC for fixed cowl claps. Now, anyone recommend an instructor in the Phoenix/Glendale AZ area?

    182 Transition

I was also surprised, but I've check the docs multiple times and talked with the agent. I'm certainly not looking for an instructor to just paper whip the HP endorsement and 182 transition. I suspect the answer for me is somewhere between 1 and 5 for basic signoff. I just want to have realistic...

    182 Transition

So, I'm a 63 hour student, 46 in the 6 months. My checkride is upcoming in a few weeks. I purchased a 1963 182F, but haven't yet flown it. I was far enough along in my training that I decided to just finish up in the 172 I've been training in. But, this means I'll need an HP endorsement when...

    Cessna 182 cowling flaps

Or just replace your movable cowl flaps with fixed cowl flaps like I did on my 182. Then you can look at the inop lever and pretend you're going 1-2k faster.

    IFR questions

What about the VAL Nav 2000? Since I already have 2 comms, this seems like just the ticket for only $1500. https://www.valavionics.com/nav-2000.html

    IFR questions

Hard to see on the left, but there's a Dynon EFIS-D10A lurking over there with a battery backup and built in ADAHRS.

Help me spend up to 165k

Yeah, I want to see what it would cost to add the second 10" HDX. Maybe I'll just flat mount a large IPad over there... More than likely I'll just fly it for now and give it some time. I'm sure with more time in it I'll have stronger opinions on what it needs.

It does not have a NAV radio, just 2 COMs

    IFR questions

My bad, it has 2 com radios. It has a Dynon radio and the GNC355 along with 2 GPS, the built in Dynon GPS and the GNC355 WAAS GPS. The Dynon GPS isn't IFR certified, but in case of need....

    IFR questions

Let me start by saying I'm not IFR certified, simply a soon to be PPL that has bought his first airplane. The airplane is a 1963 Cessna 182F with a Dynon Skyview HDX, GNC355 WAAS GPS/COM, and Dynon GPS. The airplane has no NAV radio. Can this aircraft be flown IFR legally with a WAAS GPS as the...

Help me spend up to 165k

Not yet. The previous owners had it all prepped for the Dynon autopilot, but the FAA approval is taking longer than expected. It "seems" to be in the final stages, so hopefully soon. I wish it had a little bit more useful load and it has no NAV radio, but I'm tickled pink. We'll see how far in...

Help me spend up to 165k

Just a followup to this thread. I closed today on a 1963 Cessna 182F with a Dynon Skyview HDX and Garmin GNC355 panel for less than originally planned.

    Kentucky aircraft purchase and taxes

I'm in the process of, hopefully, buying an aircraft from an owner in Kentucky. I live in AZ. I notice on the AOPA site that Kentucky doesn't have the "fly away rule". So does this mean I'll end up paying Kentucky sales tax on the purchase? AOPA says they do have the casual sale "yard sale...
