    No Polarization Sunglasses

I have Flying Eyes RX glasses, bifocals. They are wonderful. The earpieces are VERY thin, so they fit great under my headset. Additionally, the tinted magnetic clip on is not tinted on the bottom bifocal part. They were expensive. I can't say a good value, but I'm very happy with them and if...

Starting to look at what I want and need some thoughts

Even after the initial purchase shock she can fill that beast up with purchases. My fully grown family of 4 fits wonderfully in my 182F. My sons is 6'4 and has room to lounge in the back seat. 1091 pounds with 79g usable (617 full fuel). It trues at about 130 knots, maybe a tad under, without...

    Door Stewart Strut Replacement

I just went through this issue on my 63 182F. I had flown to my Dad's house and parked the plane at KCMA. While out there the Santa Anna winds came ripping through. The door blew open at some point and ripped the stock door stop apart. The door impacted the strut and caused some damage. I had 2...

    Glendale AZ to Sedona

My sons and I decided to take an afternoon trip to Sedona. Being a new airplane owner and new PPL it was my first time flying to Sedona. The weather was amazing and the plane flew great. It was a bit intimidating for me. I've heard there can be lots of traffic, it's an uncontrolled airfield, it...

    Dynon 182 Auto Pilot Approved

Well, I just got word that the autopilot is not compatible with my airframe. I have a 1963 Cessna 182F. Sounds like the roll kit works fine, but there is an issue with the pitch kit. They're working on a solution, but given how long it too the first time around to get certified I'm concerned how...

    I’m calling the peak

I bought at the end of July, so I think you can safely call that the peak.

    Dynon 182 Auto Pilot Approved

I bought my plane with the Dynon already installed and the installer is half way across the country. Is the install pretty straightforward?

    Dynon 182 Auto Pilot Approved

All in roughly 10k. That's a lot of money, but for an autopilot seems good.

    Folding E-bicycle.

I have no experience with them, but I recently saw the Carbo folding electric bike. A little over 29lbs seems perfect for flying. At $2900 they are pricey though. https://ridecarbo.com/

    Audio issues

Ok, more oddness. Bose A20 plugged into left side front alone, fine. Bose A20 plugged into the front left and Lightspeed Sierra plugged into the front right, problem. Bose A20 plugged into the front left and Lightspeed Zulu 3 plugged into the front right, fine. Bose A20 front left and Lightspeed...

    Audio issues

The interesting this is even when both are plugged in only the left side mic sounds poor. I don't recall any change from the right. I'm going to try and record it I think

    Audio issues

I'll try that, but I've never heard any other jack sound poor. I also want to see if the rear jacks are the same.

    Dynon 182 Auto Pilot Approved

https://www.dynoncertified.com/cessna-182-autopilot.php The pricing worksheet is there, but keep in mind that, as I understand it, the brains of the autopilot are built into the Skyview system. So anyone who has installed a Skyview has already paid for some part of the autopilot. That being...

    Audio issues

I have a Cessna 182f with a PS engineering PMA6000b audio panel. I use Bose A20 and my passenger uses Lightspeed Sierra headsets. When my headset and mic are plugged into the pilot side my mic sounds great. When I'm plugged into the pilot side and my passenger plugs into the right seat my mic...

    Nellis Aviation Nation 2022

I did happen upon another thread with almost exactly the same question. Thumbs down for my searching. Seems to indicate that VGT should remain open with the TFR. https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/kdvt-to-kvgt-north-las-vegas.106820/

    Nellis Aviation Nation 2022

I saw one perform 3 flybys at the Point Mugu CA airshow back in the 80's. Was stunning to say the least. I've really enjoyed the Nellis airshow every time I've gone. That being said I do miss the vapor at the Point Mugu airshow. Aviation photography is one of my other expensive hobbies.

    Nellis Aviation Nation 2022

I'm thinking about flying up from Phoenix to Las Vegas for the airshow. I would likely leave out of Phoenix Friday evening and come back on Sunday afternoon. I know they will be a TFR to deal with. Any suggestions on which airport to fly into and out of? I can't file IFR since I'm not rated if...
