What is Camp Scholler like? I'm interested in going to Oshkosh this year. Looked at the rates of local (and not so local) hotels/motels and as expected, they are ridiculous.
So how much is it to camp at Camp Scholler? We'll be tent camping most likely. Unless we can find some RV rentals...
One of my fondest memories growing up is me sitting in the truck, barely able to reach the pedals and hearing my dad yell, okay pump ‘em. Followed by okay hold ‘em! As he wrenched the bleeder valves. But I guess this system might work too.
I used to train at N27 until the flight school got shut down. Flying out of 7N1 now. PPL hopefully this spring. I'd be interested in burger runs or a fly-in.
I started with just the Kershner book. Provided a good foundation but I didnt feel completely prepared. I then purchased the Gold Seal PPL prep. Found out I was more of an online guy. Went through Gold Seal and scored a 90 on the test. As others of said they are all pretty good.
I think home base will be Anchorage proper. GF's son who is stationed there has leave for the week. His wife who works for the TSA probably doesn't so I imagine we'll be staying in Anchorage and venturing out from there.
So I'm going to be in Anchorage for a week in the latter part of June visiting my GF's son who is stationed there. I'd like to take a flying tour of Denali. A quick google search results in many outfits offering Denali tours. Anyone have a favorite? Is it worth the extra $$ to land on a...
More flights to Sanford from ELM. I just don’t think I’m going to be able to swing the timing. Might aim for Oshkosh instead. I’ll use the “free” hotel in Vegas. Never been there, I hear you should visit at least once. Lol
Hotel is actually in Lake Buena Vista which appears to be Southwest of Orlando proper. Mapquest has travel time from hotel to Lakeland at 44 minutes. Not bad. Now if I can just get them to push back the dates a week I'll be good!
